We took a reggae bus to Speightstown and then to Bathsheba. A totally different experience from the west coast - the breakers are fantastic and the rock formations really interesting. There are a couple of bars where you can get drinks and food before heading...More

Bathsheba is still my favorite beach in Barbados. Even though you really can’t swim here, it has amazing views and the huge boulders are simply amazing. Do yourself a favor and spend a couple of hours at the spectacular beach.

We had an enjoyable morning at this beach! It is a must do in Barbados, even if you are not a surf enthusiast. The rock formations are so beautiful! Spend some tine watching the waves hitting the rocks, it is astonishing! The beach was desert,...More

This is one of the most beautiful beaches I have every visited. (Maybe 2nd to Whitsundays in Oz). The weird shaped giant rocks in the sea make this picture perfect and you can't fail to get some great photos here. And the palm trees on...More

We stopped here a few times on our trips and it was breathtakingly beautiful, we also watched some surfing taking place. A lovely place on the island to see.

Awesome sea views. Park at Barclay Park and go down onto the sand to fill your lungs with fresh sea air. The colour of the ocean and the clarity of the water are so beautiful as the waves crash in. We were the only three...More

Foaming waves breaking on to a white sand beach. Interesting shaped and eroded rocks. This place is a stunner. Worth the drive

No, it has not been affected. However, keep in mind that the Atlantic ocean in Batsheba area is rough, the beach is rocky and though scenic for watching, it's not good for swimming, but best suited for surfing. It's a good... More

Just back from Barbados, starting a long trip report (30 Replies)
My husband and I flew from Cleveland, Ohio to Barbados via Fort Lauderdale with jetblue on 14th May. . We were delayed a couple of hours leaving FLL but the flight was good and jetblue was excellent. We didn't use a red cap. None approached us and everyone, including the recaps, was queuing in the same line. We got to our apartment quite late so just had a quick meal at Good Choice Chinese restaurant which is located by the pool in our apartment complex, Golden View Apartments in Holetown....More

Public transportation vs hiring a car (5 Replies)
I'm staying at Inch Marlow at the Peach & Quiet. I've made reservation to hire car for a week, but I am weighing the attributes of just going public. I sincerely don't like driving, it seems to be more like work in a island environment, issues like finding a place to park, traffic, getting lost etc. on roads you haven't driven can be stressful. Can I get a public transportation route map? I'd like to go to Miami & Crane beach, Bathsheba beach, Andromeda Gardens, and the Barbados...More

Bob's on Bathsheba beach front (2 Replies)
Anyone surfing at the Soup Bowl, or just driving around needs to visit Bob 'shop' on the sea front at Bathsheba (I cannot recall what it is called). It is a Chattel house, brightly painted quite a few years ago. Bob is a retired golf pro who now teaches some of the local kids the game, with donated clubs etc. He has very little to sell, although the blackboard offers Hammocks, cards, art etc., but he is a lovely and interesting man and there is often an impromptu jazz session, or gathering of...More

Nice to see someone else who appreciates the qualities of life on the eastern side of the island!! There is so much more beauty to the island apart from the south and west. When are you building or is it a dream of yours??? There is talk of starting a bus service to Bath Beach St John this can only be a brilliant start to rejuvenating the eastern side. I know now the facilities are finished there will certainly be more local weekend picnic and that will be brilliant!!
