We jumped on the bus from the hotel and went early Sunday morning around 9 and had the entire beach to ourselves - along with a couple fishermen. The beach is mostly clean and not really recommended for swimming, but if you head down the beach a ways - there are tide pools and sometimes there are some nice shells... More

I don't go much for the beach but I love to look at it. Also family lives up there so we would go often. It is such a beautiful part of the island. I would get excited when the bus got to the top of the steep hill and the view was there. Magnificent!

This beach is so beautiful and it's actually not that far from the Caribbean side because Barbados is such a small island. This beach is very picturesque and fun to explore. We didn't go swimming but we had fun walking around and soaking in the beauty.

We wanted a change of scenery from the west coast so drove to Bathsheba beach one day. Great place for a walk. Nice ocean breeze. Amazing rock formations. Apparently there are some shallow inshore pools good for soaking but we didn't try. If you want to see a different much more rugged coast of Barbados just visit Bathsheba.

What a place! This is wild. Crashing waves, huge rock boulders on the beach, quiet with few visitors and quite an experience when windy. I think that this area is to dangerous to bathe in except for the first 5m or so. I noticed some red flags and since there was no supervision, not worth the risk. The setting is... More

Wonderful rugged shoreline, boulders, and tide pools. Great picture taking spots. However if you want traditional calm clear waters associated with a (Caribbean) island go to the west coast of the island

Bathsheba is certainly a "must see" for any visitor to Barbados. It is on the windy rough east coast so not safe for swimming. This is where the best surfers go to ride the Atlantic breakers at Soup Bowl and Parlour. Very rustic and undeveloped area with a few small local bars for a beer etc. Close by is The... More

This beach is on the Atlantic (East) coast of Barbados. As such the waves are "bracing", but the beach is beautiful and not at all crowded. We really enjoyed our day here. Look at the photos!
