This beach was a recommendation by our host who told us that it is not used by tourists and preferred by the locals in Matapalos. We visited mid-week and practically had the place to ourselves. The tideline is extensive and you can be standing yards off shore before the water goes above your knees. The temps of the waves were very comfortable. Not a place for shell-seeking, but we saw caravans of pelicans, some dolphins beyond the surf and a few sweet little hermit crabs. There were some people passing by at one point on horseback too. We did note that some shattered glass was visible in a few of the "parking" areas, so do not leave valuables in your car. No lifeguard and of course riptides are always a reality. Hit up the Happy Lobster (Langosta Feliz) after for a snack and a cocktail!

This beach is much nicer than Playa Dominical in my opinion. Long and wide, it's a good beach for a long walk. Not many tourists, mostly locals just enjoying the day with family and/or friends. You can park right next to the beach and keep your vehicle in your sights, if that concerns you. A lovely day at a lovely beach.

Park in the palms and enjoy the surf. Beautiful beach. We enjoyed heading to left as far as possible and looking for coconuts.

Hopefully this review helps someone.. This was the most perfect beach we discovered in Costa Rica but unfortunately our rental was broken into while we were swimming for not even 10 min :( the guy “selling coconuts” is actually a thief and they have a few getaway cars that they use to smash ur window in, grab ur stuff and go. Save urself the heartbreak, stress and money.. Costa Rica has way too many other beautiful beaches to explore safely.

View, cleanliness, and amount of beach versus people deserves 5 stars. The sea nearly took a friend of ours with it, so that forces 1 star. Please be careful. Rip tides are strong

We loved the unique features of the whale’s tail and loved the surf vibe of Dominical but Playa Linda was our favorite beach by far. No riptides, very little garbage, very few people - our kind of place.
Spent most of the day on an ATV tour in the mountains with Diamanté Verde tours (highly recommended). On the recommendation of Karl (the owner) visited Playa Linda to cool off before heading to Restaurante Langosta Feliz for an early dinner. Best day of our trip, hands down. Everything - perfecto!

We didn’t see any signposts for this beach, we only knew how to get here from our hotel who told us to look out for the dirt road by two radio masts! Very quiet, beautiful beach away from the hordes of tourists on the more popular beaches. We found it to be safe for paddling out into the waves, and had no issues with theft although this is always something to keep in mind wherever you go. We came here twice in two days and enjoyed the amazing view watching the sun set.

The beach is gorgeous, huge palm trees and brown sand. There are no amenities and no vendors, so you feel part of the nature.
The rip currents are very strong and there are no lifeguards, so I would advise everyone to be very careful in the water and do not go swimming alone.

Playa Linda is a great little secret place-with palm tree lined shores, perfect for putting up a hammock!

This is a beautiful beach. It's a secret of the locals so not known by many tourists. The sands stretch into forever. The water was warm and waves fun to play in but watch out for riptides. They are pretty easy to spot as the waves will be going in different directions. Palm trees provide shade if you need to get out of the sun for awhile. This was my favorite beach and one we will visit again and again.
