The Midland Railway - Butterley is a heritage railway running Steam and Diesel hauled trains that take visitors to our museum complex at Swanwick Junction. Here you can visit our Railway Museum,Coutry Park, Demonstration Signal Box, Victorian Railwayman's Church, the West Shed Experience, home of the Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust, Narrow Gauge Miniature and Model Rauilways. Trains operate on most weekends and daily during local school holidays. Check website for details.

Friendly helpful staff, although cafe was closed mid week during school hols. Steam train ride fantastic with several places to stop and explore. Highly recommended

You can now get a family ticket through 'Woucher' for £18. I have used this ticket and it is good value.
