The Midland Railway - Butterley is a heritage railway running Steam and Diesel hauled trains that take visitors to our museum complex at Swanwick Junction. Here you can visit our Railway Museum,Coutry Park, Demonstration Signal Box, Victorian Railwayman's Church, the West Shed Experience, home of the Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust, Narrow Gauge Miniature and Model Rauilways. Trains operate on most weekends and daily during local school holidays. Check website for details.

This venture is run by volunteers, most of whom are well into retirement. The sign into the premises can barely be seen due to overgrown bushes and the car park has huge craters in it, which pretty much require wellies if there has been rain....More

I did see an engine in the siding with a Gordon face but it was on the tracks. I presume they will do Thomas weekends would be worth a phone call first hope to that helps 😊

You can now get a family ticket through 'Woucher' for £18. I have used this ticket and it is good value.
