Lovely harbour & some interesting “pods” on the quayside with gifts / food etc.

Nice place to sit watching the world go by!

Lots of nice places to eat & obligatory freshly caught fish.

What a delightful surprise

Called here on way back from visiting Northumberland Country Zoo. What a delightful place this is. Hats off to whoever is managing the redevelopment. What could have been simply an industrial wharf, is being modernised and diversifying. Cafes and quiet bars all around. Fascinating use of large cabin to make miniature shops. Loads to see and a wonderful walk around the harbour wall, with some beautifully kept gardens. What a delight! Would definitely consider staying here in the future.

Poor first impression
Aug 2021
Busy Saturday lunchtime -Disappointed that some of the stalls were closed but hey ho... however .. couldn’t get over the rude and unfriendly people in the alleged seafood centre.. Lady in front of us choosing her order so we stood aside near the lobsters ... obviously looking at them as we are not robots!! abruptly told by a random guy ‘you are not allowed in this area !! ( to the right of the ‘counter’ ) not roped off or clearly signposted .... a more friendly obvious customer approach would have sufficed mate ... suggested what he did with his poorly looking- expensive seafood !!! He really let you guys down

Forgettable experience

Specifically came to Amble for this but tbh the huts offer nothing special. This is a pity for the sellers as if there was more in the surrounding area they would likely have more trade.

Visit was over in around 30 minutes with only the port and a pretty uneventful town to explore.

Stopped off on Saturday part way through our bike ride, the village was buzzing, lots of people around & the market in the harbour was a hive of activity, never been before when the market was on but so much to see and do & something for everyone, love the little shops situated in the marina, well worth a visit.

Cute huts with a quirky selection of shops
Jul 2021
This is a lovely selection of somewhat quirky small shops on the edge of the harbourside.
There is everything from glass jewellery to old fashioned sweets.
It's as pretty as a postcard.

Sweet and Flour - charged £15.90 for 2 dreadful sandwiches in a very underhand manner
Jul 2021
Pod 'Sweet and Flour' were advertising crab sandwhiches so ordered 2. The staff told us they were made to order so sent us off to sit on some benches nearby. No prices were displayed. The staff member came over to us with the sandwiches in a small box so we couldn't see them. We asked how much we owed but she didn't reply, so we asked 'cash or card' she preferred card so my husband did a contactless card swipe. We were horrified to realise that we had been charged £15.90. We hoped that these were the best crab sandwiches we had ever tasted! but sadly not. Doorstep dry bread and very little filling. As we don't live in the area but were on holiday, had driven some way before checking the food, and don't have a phone number available to complain, we feel very exploited by sharp practice by this establishment. The other places we have visited in the harbour development have been excellent so hope she is just one rotten apple.

Nice Quaint Shops

Nice little Harbour with quaint hand made shops, from wood work to jewellery and local beer. Great to pop in if your in the area but wouldn't make a special trip for this.
