About
World of Owls is one of the largest most diverse collections of owls in the UK and Ireland. Winner of Best Staff Award by "World Host". Voted "Best Voluntary Contribution to Birds of Prey and Wildlife" by RSPCA. We have other birds of prey, reptiles, insects & other animals to see. There is a small children's play park, tea, coffee and light refreshments available, gift shop and it is wheelchair accessible. Visit the website for full details. It's a registered charity, all staff work for no reward to look after the animals and educate the guests. It is a licensed and regulated zoo not government funded. It is rustic and rural and the vast majority of the animals are rescued. (Covid-19 Update) Pandemic closure meant funding that was destined to upgrade the centre had to go on food and bills. Upgrade will be restarted soon. We are a working Animal Education Sanctuary in a forest setting not a disney type theme park.

Brilliant

Arrived to a very warm welcome from Mike and an explanation of what they did at the facility. Self guided tour round a wide range of Owls and other birds of prey. All the birds were in excellent condition and very well looked after. After the tour we were invited to view a small range of reptiles that were also housed at the centre and that was followed by a details talk on the Barn Owl and The Eurasion Eagle Owl. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend a visit if you are looking to fill a couple of hours, a great way to offer your support to a charitable organisation that receives no outside funding and relies solely on visitor contributions.

What a great place. We received a warm welcome from Pyper the dog. A great variety of birds with all of the information at each enclosure about each one. Lots of unusual breeds to see. The staff were super helpful & very informative. There are also reptiles to see at the end of your adventure. I would highly recommend, & we will be back again. Thanks World of Owls.

Definitely worth a visit!

My family thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience on our first - but not last - visit to World of Owls. Mike spent a good deal of time telling us interesting facts about the animals. His knowledge and obvious passion for his job was amazing. From Griff the Golden Eagle, all those beautiful and different owls right through to the talking grey parrot. We were lucky as Jade kindly let my son and husband handle the corn snake. We would definitely recommend a visit.

A must see!

World of owls was amazing. I had no Idea that it existed until I researched... Some of the birds have been badly mistreated, which is a real shame but they definitely landed on their perches with Mike and his colleagues who are extremely dedicated to the birds plus a dog who was the most friendly dog EVER!! If you are interested in raptor's then this is the place to visit... I will be adopting a bird and can't wait to visit him/her on my next visit!! The admission was cheap and I wouldn't mind paying more as it is a charity organisation. All in all one of the best wildlife visits we have had to date! Definitely worth a visit!!!!!!!

Extremely enjoyable experience.

Great place for animal lovers. There are around 25 different owl species plus birds of prey and farm birds. Situated in Randalstown forest, it also gives you the opportunity before or after to take a pleasant forest walk where we saw deer, squirrels and butterflies.
Most of the birds were very easy to see...some quite close up and the variety of shapes and sizes is amazing. We had the pleasure of talking to the owner whose passion and dedication to these beautiful creatures is impressive. He was informative and had a few stories to tell which added to the experience.
You probably wont spend more than an hour here but it was extremely enjoyable and every single penny of the entrance fee goes towards the upkeep of these birds.

Great family day out!

This was Fantastic experience for the whole family. The number of birds and the varied species was brilliant to see. From start to finish the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help with fun facts regarding the animals on display.

It was also very accessible for our family, even though we brought the baby in her pram.
It is amazing to have something like this so local, we will definitely be back!
