Mayfield Falls was really good. The falls take about an hour or so but the experience is amazingggg and I would definitely recommend it. Big ups to my tour guide Dave!!!! He was a legenddddd, please ask for him. He has been doing this since the 90s and gave me the real real experience. Mayfield is 100% better than Dunns River. It was lovely and quiet (due to the pandemic unfortunately) but this meant we had an amazing tour which felt like a private tour. Everyone there is super nice and we had an amazingggg time and I will definitely be returning!!! Only small point, the photographer didn't have his camera as he said it had broken the day before and he took some okay pictures on his Samsung but definitely nothing like it would have been if he used a professional camera. Due to this, the pics were a little bit of a let down but it is also my fault for not carrying a waterproof case. On the whole, I would definitely definitely recommend this tour!!! Please go and experience it.

I went on a group trip to Original Mayfield Falls this past weekend and enjoyed the trek up the falls. It was an overcast day, but that added to the fun, no sun burn that day. At a point on the trek there is a mineral spa where you can rub mud on your skin for a great exfoliating scrub, leaving your skin feeling silky smooth, then was off in the cool water. Wonderful experience.

Had so much fun at the falls. Was in a group of roughly 8 adults, guides were great and looked after my partner and I who aren't strong swimmers. There isn't a 'big' waterfall here like Dunns, or Ochi Blue Hole BUT the hiking route through these smaller falls was still challenging & fun. I also really enjoyed the drive up there, a lot of beautiful mountain scenery. The lunch provided was also great quality, authentic Jamaican food with a choice of chicken, fish or veggie curry.

Our Jamaican day of Aventure: Mayfield Falls. The falls is approximately an hour drive from Montego Bay. We departed our resort around 10am. Dennis, our amazing and insightful driver, explained all about the diversity within the Jamaican topography. He told stories of how the mountain people were much “hardier” than the coastal Jamaicans (lol). The food grown in the mountains was beyond being equivalent to US organic. The Jamaican mountain fruits/veggies were not only fresher but healthier. He stated “All veggies/fruits are picked at premium ripeness and nothing is processed”. Dennis was wonderful entertainment, while navigating the bumpy roads, during our climb upward into the Jamaican jungle. Once arriving at Mayfield Falls, we exited the vehicle. As I looked around, I felt the sense of genuine hospitality. The kind of hospitality you receive upon arriving at a great friend’s personal home. There were several small buildings/cottages all within the surrounding area, along with various gardens and livestock. My husband and I excitedly follow Dennis, our driver, down the hillside of 300+ steps, to where our adventure was to begin. Everyone, we passed, greeted us along the way with big smiles and happy hellos. Once at the main staging area, you are ushered over to meet your guide and take care of the first order of business, i.e placing your lunch order😉 All will be hungry after spending two (2) hours walking and climbing through the river of waterfalls and lush Jungle. With lunch taken care of, change into your water shoes or rent them on site. There are lockers for your belongings. Be certain to wear your swimsuit, because you will be dripping wet upon the completion of this excursion! Then onward for one last stop at the bathroom facilities. Remember there are no stops for a “potty” in the jungle. Finally, be certain when booking this adventure to ask Dennis. He is one of the wonderful guides at Mayfield Falls. He is very knowledgeable, oozes with great stories and is amazingly kind! The Jamaican beauty in which you behold and are immersed in is almost indescribable. Everything around you is a bold green landscape. The peaceful serenity of the constant moving water with birds chirping is equivalent to a relaxing spa. Visually the surroundings, just stunning! Everywhere you look, the jungle backdrop is coupled by various shades of greenish blue water; pure clean water... all I can say is WoW😀 The cost to visit Mayfield Falls is $75/person. Please be advised this is a cash only excursion. Be certain you a lot enough money to pay for lunch and most importantly provide a handsome tip to your guide. This is how these wonderful Jamaican mountain people provide for their families. Happy Adventure 😀
