Signposted from the road just north of Hakapu. The sign says 2 hours return. Actually 1 hour return for a person of normal fitness. However it was a challenging walk over a rocky path. Spectacular, breathtaking coastal views. A steep climb down a ladder into...More

Wear good footwear, but as you get closer to the chasm the views are breathtaking.Lots of steps and need to take care of where you step as quite dark but the chasm is like nothing you've seen before. Well worth the walk.

This is 1 of just a couple of attractions on the East coast. The trail takes you through a lot of trees and rocky ground before opening up to Pinnacle type formation. Then it is a bit of a walk down these rocks to a...More

This was one of my favourite spots in Niue. I rode a bike around the island, stopping at each of the very clearly signposted natural attractions (60km, about 4-5 hours at a relaxed pace) . Togo Chasm was my personal highlight. (It's about 20 minutes...More

Togo is not an experience to rush through. The forest walk, the escarpment, the ladder, the chasm itself, the cave through to the ocean at the bottom of the ladder and the raw power of the incoming Pacific Ocean swells are all mesmerising. Take your...More

We hired a car and toured the island but what it doesn't tell you on the map is that the walk is 45 minutes each way and it took us a good 2 hrs to make our way to that side of the island so...More

There is a small parking area and a toilet nearby. Wear good shoes, i did it some sketches and it was all good. Forget your swimwear, you won't need them here as there is no water/swimming area. It is about a 30 minute walk to...More

Togo Chasm is well worth a visit if you have moderate fitness and agility. Such a contrasting and stark landscape that felt like something out 'Temple of Doom'.

Wow crazy walk and not for the faint hearted. Good shoes water and a good level of fitness needed the ladder and the tiny cliff path are quite challenging. The views sublime when you get there. Choose a fine day would be treacherous on wet...More
