We never tire of visiting this amazing beach. There is nothing better than parking just outside the village and taking a lovely stroll along the beach, down the estuary, past the railway café and then back. It is a very special place.

Can't believe I missed this glorious beach on past visits to Wales.With a section for dogs this beach is stunning with golden sand.
Unfortunately access is tricky as the disabled ramp was lost in recent floods so large rocks and shingles must be negotiated.
Wonderful place for all ages, with the added attraction for the Fairbourne narrow gauge railway and the Fairbourne - Barmouth Ferry (not that I saw it, just the waiting rooms)
Great views of mountains, turquoise sea and Barmouth on the other side of the estuary.
After climbing down the stones (sea defences) this is the perfect beach. It doesn't get too busy, unlike neighbouring resorts. Lots of lovely sand, beautiful mountain scenery, clean public toilets, plenty of parking close to the beach and a huge choice of ice cream close...More

I didn't see any "dog" signs. Locally to me its the main summer months where there are sections on the beach for dogs and sections for NO dogs. If you haven't had an answer check with the local tourism, the Fairbourne... More
I didn't see any "dog" signs. Locally to me its the main summer months where there are sections on the beach for dogs and sections for NO dogs. If you haven't had an answer check with the local tourism, the Fairbourne Railway folk maybe able to assist
