If you visit the Exumas you must stop here. You can only go in around slack tide, but it is worth the effort

This is a MUST SEE! Best snorkeling and the most fish I have ever had around me at once! You have to swim between rocks to get in the grotto then it opens at the top so sun comes in. Tons of fish and so...More

Have snorkeled here many times and it never gets old. Beautiful aquarium quality dive most of the time. Slack and low tide makes it much easier. Can be a really difficult swim with very strong currents if you hit it at the wrong time. At...More

Definitely worth the short swim from the boat. Hundreds of beautiful fish swimming around you. Bring an underwater camera.

Nothing spectacular other than it is unique to see a cavernous pool. It was fun to watch some of the kids who had climbed up the rocks on the outside to jump through a hole in the top.

I chose to swim with just fins and goggles. At low tide we essentially entered at the surface. The inside was amazing, but underwater was more alive than any aquarium...and more colorful. I am a senior who never swims, but had no problem. To say...More

We snorkeled at Thunderball Grotto at low tide and it was just outstanding. The fish were everywhere and the water was perfectly clear.

Such a fun little boat ride from yacht club beach. Went 2 mornings. Had younger boys wear life vest 8,10 so they could concentrate on all the fish. Parents were brave and climbed/jumped from top into grotto. Husband’s 007 dream come true

The water is not deep but you cannot touch the floor so you need to swim. You should really make the effort to learn how to swim with fins and so you will be able to enjoy the grotto because the most beautiful part is... More

There is no room for swimming devices at all. Even the most confident swimmer can have trouble . The current is STRONG and the tide goes up fast

Staniel Cay Yacht club was the ticket for us. Thunderball Grotto is very close to the Yacht Club, and Pig's beach isn't very far away either. Part of staying at the yacht club included a Boston Whaler for our own use. I'm... More
