I didn't know what to expect but this was an amazing day. Donald was so delightful. He went out of his way to make sure we saw everything. Dianna was sweet and cook a great meal that we enjoyed overlooking the ocean. It is a casual, laid back day but full of interesting things to learn. I'd recommend this to anyone heading to Freeport.

I live in Freeport on Grand Bahama Island. I have been to Grum Ma's Cultural Center three (3) times with guests that stayed with us. I want to compliment the Cultural Center. Each time I learned more and more about the Bahamian Culture. The tour and discussion of the director of Grum Ma's house was informative and very entertaining. We enjoyed our tea and homemade Bahamian Desserts while learning about the Bahamas. It is an amazing island. The Bahamians are kind, generous and very hospitable. I highly recommend this tour and so do all of my guests.

The experience was honestly not like I expected but better. My mother and I went on a cruise and wanted to get a locals perspective on the island. Donald was able to give us so much knowledge about the island. He drove us all over after we had an amazing home cooked lunch. The knowledge I gained about Freeport and the Bahamas as a whole I would not have been able to gain if he wouldn’t have offered this tour. I highly recommend booking if you plan to be in Freeport and want want something different. He shows you the real Freeport not to scare you but to educate you. Donald knows everyone and everyone knows him. People spoke to him time and time again making us feel completely comfortable in our surroundings. Again if you are looking for a great lunch and to see the island from a locals standpoint this is the way to go.

Alexan... Again thank you for taking the chance on Diane and me when you could easily have taken any other tour. While we may not stand out through marketing we stand out through giving you an experience that as we say is truly a Bahamian souvenir. Appreciate your review and taking the time to actually give us one. Blessings.

I’ve taken numerous food tours throughout many different cities and counties. This one was crazy incredible. They came to pick us up directly from the cruise ship and provided a personal tour. This fully immersed us in the local culture. The gentleman who normally runs the tour was on vacation, so his extended family stepped in and ran it with expertise. We learned about the culture, ate incredible food under a tree looking at the ocean and walked around picking and sampling fresh fruit from their trees. I can NOT recommend this tour enough. It’s a hidden gem among all other tours.

Nikolet, Thank you for your contribution. I was away and my daughter and sister assured me that they would take care of you. I appreciate what they have done and am grateful that you had a great experience. This is what we want our guests to leave with a Bahamas souvenir experience!

Firstly, we arrived to see that the majority of news and media outlets have not been fully accurate about the state of the Bahamas. The hurricane (Dorian) did not wipe out everything. The area where the cruise ship docks to the southern area of Freeport is intact and fully functional. As for this tour, Donald picked us up from our hotel and drove us around the area a bit and gave us a very informative tour and history of the area. Then we arrived to a home to talk with and cook some local dishes (such as peas & rice, fried plantains). Diane was with us as well giving instruction. We are very appreciative and honored that they would invite us into their home to eat and converse with them. After we ate, we went on a drive around the island and was given a tour that cannot be matched by any other typical touristy tour. We got to see some historical areas, the areas that were affect by the hurricanes, the areas that most people do not know about, etc. It was the most informative and personable tour I have ever experienced. I am both humbled and grateful to have experienced it. Donald even helped us secure some famous local food that is difficult to find in stores and dropped it off at our hotel afterward. It was potato bread, very delicious. If you come to the Bahamas, especially if you are going to be on the Grand Bahama island, I cannot stress how amazing this experience will be for you. The friendliness of the local Bahamian people , their culture, their struggles, etc. can all be learned and understood with this "tour" (it feels more like a cultural experience). Highly recommended to check out.

Eyeonc, Thank you (P & B) for the opportunity to host you. I must admit that we were unable to use the cultural center for cooking because of some of the challenges which we still face. It is however, open for other tours. We appreciate your sharing of so much regarding cooking. We felt more in debt to you for such a great sense of humility and giving of the knowledge that you have. Would that we all found the time just to share of ourselves. Thank you for your kind review. Donald & Diane
