One of the two major breweries in The Bahamas, if you are travelling to Grand Bahama and enjoy beer it's worth stopping at the Bahamian Brewery. Makers of Sands Beer, you can tour the brewery, do a tasting, and buy beer to take with you when you leave.

You know what gives this place a 5 rating. It's not elaborate or breathtaking. It is a very small plant and on the edge of being a boring tour. However, the staff was super friendly and treats you well. The beers that we tasted were very good. I'm now bummed that I can't get it in the states. :-( We decided to avoid the ship's excursion tour that included the brewery. Instead, we opted for a quick taxi ride for $4/person. It ended up just the 8 of us doing what seemed to be a private tour and tasting. I believe it was around $10 USD each. We could have stayed there all day but they had to kick us out to prepare for a large tour coming in. I know for a fact that the next time we are in Freeport we will be going back to the Bahamian Brewery.

Very neat place with plenty of history and novel eateries. We had the best tour guide (mama gal) who opened our eyes to the finer things about Freeport and shared his inciteful wisdom with us through out the day. Our tour ended with a stop at a great spot to eat and an abandoned beach to soak away during the afternoon. This is just what the doctor ordered for peace and relaxation.

While on the cruise this was our excursion while in Freeport. The brewery was cool, and the people were all so friendly. My friend and I both tried their grapefruit beer and man was it good. The tour was kind of short but our driver named Tiny made the entire tour super fun

The tour was very informative. Great to learn that Sands is the only Bahamian owned beer. We enjoyed the tasting and drinking afterward. There is also a liquor store attached so you can buy some of the beer to take with you.

Took their tour and for I believe $10.00 US a piece we had a ball. We were invited by one of their sales people who was doing a free tasting at one of the restaunrants at Port Lucaya. It so happened our taxi driver who we use everytime we are in Freeport got us a tour for just my wife and myself. After going thru the facility we adjourned to the tasting room where we had more the you coulld ever want for that $10.00 we spent. We also met the the sales guy who talked us into trying the tour who took care of us when checking out through the to go store. After three hours who could ever complain. Anyone going to Freeport that enjoys beer and a good time should tsake this
tour. Can not guarentee it would be as good as ours but don't think you coukd go wrong.

Great activity for a rainy day. Went during the week so both the bottling and canning lines were running and you could see all the steps. The brewery is 11 years old and runs under a German Brewmaster. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. At the end of the tour you get to taste 5-6 beers on draft and then sit and enjoy a few more cups just because its good and you can only get it in the Bahamas. My husband loved the Stout, my family and I liked the 66 steps and Bushcrack. No IPAs (yeah!). Well worth the trip if you like to tour breweries.

We went to visit the brewery, the guide seems not interested, and made see us 4 point. The tanks , fermentation, filtering and bottling plant. Took only 5 min. Bring us to the tasting room. And that's it.
