The place was amazing and in a cute historical home turned museum. The costumes were out of this world and are very creative considering what they were made out of. The tour was inexpensive and very thought out considering what they give you. I highly recommend seeing this spot as it is in an historic part of nassau with rich history 😃

We got a wonderful tour from Helen and when Silbert returned from errands, he gave us the opportunity to make music and try on some of the costumes! We also heard lots about the Pittsburgh Steelers from a New England Patriot Fan! We had so much fun and there was a lot of football talk! Thank you so much for a wonderful time! When we get back to Nassau, we will be back! Highly recommended!

We visited the Junkanoo Museum as part of a tour of Nassau. As we found everywhere in the Bahamas, everyone was very friendly and proud of their heritage. It was fun playing drums and cowbells the trying on the elaborate headdresses. A short time is all that is needed but is was a really fun stop.

This was part of a tour package on our last Disney cruise. this was the best part!! We learned about Junkanoo history and got to make a lot of noise, then dance and music! My entire family enjoyed the story told by the husband & wife team and seeing the elaborate costumes made out of paper. Most on our tour bus mentioned returning to Nassau for Junkanoo! RECOMMEND to everyone!!

I insist on making my kids do at least 1 thing in the area that is relevant to history or culture. This fit both criteria! This place was an unexpected delight. We came as part of an excursion package and we're not sure what to expect. At first it seems small and you wonder how you are going to fill a half an hour. Then the guide starts and by time it is over you actually want to stay a little longer. My kids, age 4 and 7, LOVED this. It was a highlight of our trip (and that's saying goes something because we were travelling with Disney Cruise Line).
You will learn the history of Junkanoo. You will learn all about the costumes. You will learn about the music. And it is interactive. This was a delight! If you opt to see the area make sure you go here. You will not be disappointed!

We visited the Educulture Junkanoo Museum on our 1-day stop in Nassau. The owners, Arlene and Silbert, conduct the tour in what had been Arlene’s childhood home.

Junkanoo is an event with which we were not familiar, but everyone of all ages will appreciate this interactive tour. There are the award-winning costumes, designed and fabricated by Silbert, which have been worn by Arlene. There are videos and photos of parades, and the room at the rear with drums and bells where everyone makes music.

At the end of the tour, visitors can model headwear and have their pictures taken by each other.

This is a great stop in Nassau to learn about traditions and culture. Don’t miss it!

This was part of a port excursion with the Fort Tours. Initially we thought we would be more interested in the historical forts, however the Junkanoo Museum was an unexpected surprise. Very educational and gave a view of the Bahamian culture we were not expecting. The museum has Junkanoo costumes over 100 years old in addition to recent costumes. The hosts made the experience very interactive, entertaining, and enjoyable. One hidden gem in the museum was the history of the previous owners; they don't bring attention to it but look for the subtle display in the hallway. Everybody cut loose with the music making and had a great time. If you are interested in history or cultures I highly recommend a visit.

The museum was quiet a delight. Fun and informative. We made a lot of noise and in the end we made wonderful music. We were encouraged to try on the costume pieces and take pictures. We had so much fun and just loved the couple sharing their home with us.

We really knew nothing about what Junkanoo was but the guys wanted to go on a tour of the forts so we signed up for this excursion, personally I wouldn't waste your money, the museum was run by the owner and his wife, they were very nice and knowledgeable and the tour was interactive but had I known what it was all about I would not of wasted my time and money and we all wished we would of signed up to go to Aquarius tour instead, the tour driver that took you around town and pointed out different things was very good, I did enjoy that part but the fort was a total waste of time, it was very quick, our tour guide at the fort was not good at all, he looked like he just wanted to take a nap and couldn't wait until the tour was over but he was right in your face about giving him a tip which I don't think he deserved, I am all about tipping but he did not in my opinion deserve it, he just looked like it was an effort to do it and couldn't wait until it was over, I personally would not recommnend this tour. Sorry.
