Cable beach runs a long distance along the shore of the island. Many locations on the beach do not have food. We rode the number 10 bus and our driver suggested we stop at Love/ Nirvana Beach where they had food and public access. We arrived early at 8:45 AM and no food was available but we had the beach to ourselves. Shortly after 10, many ship excursions arrived and at 11 food and drinks became available. Cash only. The cost of a beer is six dollars and a rum punch is $10. It is possible to rent Jet-skies later in the day for a separate cost. It’s a beautiful place to spend the day and relax. We saw stingrays and many fish when snorkeling. Definitely recommend but it the opposite end of the island from Paradise Island so plan extra time for that. Definitely a full day to get there and enjoy the location.

This was a great public beach with chairs and umbrellas for rent (talk to Alexis - he will take care of you!). Prices are higher than on the main island. There are a number of vendors on the beach offering drinks, hair braiding, bags, banana boat rides, etc. A number of reviews noted that the vendors are aggressive but we did not find this to be true compared to other public beaches we've been to - in fact they were quite polite and occasionally stopped to chat since we were there several days in a row. There is the typical influx of cruise ship people midday. The surf breaks close to the shore and can be quite dangerous, especially as the tide is coming in. This can lead to some entertaining people watching as folks turn their backs to the ocean at inopportune times. The water is clear and beautiful but very sandy due to the close breakers. We didn't notice any issues with rip currents and were comfortable swimming offshore.

If you're driving, you can find parking for cheap ($4) right across from the beach entrance.

We stayed at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and this was the perfect beach to relax at. The water was quite cold in January, but there were still plenty of lounge chairs to relax in, since it was still quite a hot day. It was pretty empty during the weekend we went, but I can imagine this place would be super crowded during the summer months. We also didn’t see/hear a lot of hawkers which was nice.

Absolutely amazing, peaceful, beautiful. We spent about 3 hours here and then hung out at a local bar. Talked to the owner who told us to visit FISH FRY... be prepared to be pulled in every direction from every person o the street.

So, no ones fault, but the weather turned bad. It was cold, rainy and very windy. Which was unfortunate because for 5 chairs and 2 umbrellas we shelled out 115 bucks. I feel like it is fair to ask for money to rent chairs but as our day did not go as planned it was a lot of money to sit there for 1 hour. So maybe bring a nice big towel to sit on. We did see sea turtles!!! Which is wonderful!! So for the view, the beautiful sea turtles and the water I recommend this beach. I will say taxis are not cheap. 5 bucks a person, and yes you can get a bus for 1.25 but we had a very long wait for the bus on the way back from town and when the bus did come it was full. I found it hard to find this info when we were planning the cruise so I wanted to share for whoever out their is planning their cruise.

Most of the beach’s around Nassau are excellent. I enjoyed Cable beach as there were less people around. You can enjoy the water and the sand. The only down side are jet ski riders coming close to shore pushing people to ride it at a price. Once they move on you can then enjoy the water. There are no fish for snorkelling but water and sand is excellent.

My mom & I went on a trip & stayed at the Breezes Resort in Nassau. We happened to meet Captain Keith on Cable Beach. You can find him wearing his turban, walking around advertising his glass water boat excursions and other fun water activities. My mom and I signed up for the glass water boat, snorkeling at the reef and with sea turtles. It definitely did not disappoint! 1.5 hour tour- We swam so close to a sea turtle for about 20 minutes, it was beautiful! We Also snorkeled at a Reef that had so many colorful fish. If you meet Captain Keith or his friends on the beach, I definitely recommend to sign up for something fun. We also signed up for parasailing through them, it went perfectly. Beautiful, very friendly. Would 10 out of 10 recommend both. Thanks Captain Keith & Friends!

Cable Beach is conveniently located next door to Sandals Resort. For our visit, they had a loud and obnoxious D.J. trying to get a crowd of 5 to dance and get active.
It's also crowded with jet ski's, small sail boats and charter boats taking Sandals guests to an island. So, if you're looking for a relaxing beach were you can lay on the beach, read a book or listen to your music - I think the odds are against you. If you want to play in the water and swim or snorkel - you'll have to be very careful for the other watercraft. The jet ski was 15-20ft (at most) from me while I was swimming. The water itself seemed on the cloudy side, but still "blue". There are other beaches that are much nicer.

An absolutely STUNNING beach which can seem a bit intense at first, because it’s packed with people and you’re inundated with people offering rental chairs coconut beverages and more.
If you’re looking for something a bit more private, turn to the right and take a walk to the nearly secluded end of the beach. Some locals will tell you it’s “private” but as long as you bring your own towels and don’t mind not having a chair, walk along down the relatively secluded side of the beach, spread out your town and ahhhhhhhhhh.... relax and enjoy.

Disgusting and disappointing! If you don’t want to swim in waste from cruise ships ( diapers, condoms, plastic bags, garbage, etc) skip swimming here. This is why you pay the big money to go to one of the resorts. So you can avoid being so grossed out you can’t wait to go home!
