Great time on the Chubasco with Capt. Mike and Freddie. You can tell they have both been fishing these waters for a LONG time and knew exactly where the fish were. Freddie was on top of every line and always made sure the baits were...More

Captain Mike and Freddie were the best we could've asked for. Our family has used their services 2 times before and we always have a blast. We caught 6 Wahoo in the morning and even got to experience shark sightings! Highly, highly recommend these guys!

Depends on which boat you choose. Around $600 is what we paid. You can have up to 5 people for that.

Chubasco Charters----WONDERFUL experience! (25 Replies)
My husband & I went out yesterday morning with Charlton & Moose with Chubasco Charters. These two were wonderfully nice and accommodating. They made sure that we caught a bunch of fish. :). If you're looking to do some deep-sea or reef fishing, get ahold of Chubasco. We took their smallest boat available (36 ft., I believe) and it was $525. We were treated great & had a fantastic time fishing and being out on the beautiful ocean! Highly recommend this company! Thanks Moose & Charlton! :)

Thanks for this very timely post! I was looking at fishing charters for next March-April and found Chubasco. I was wondering if anyone had tried them recently and was glad to see it. Did you reef fish or sport fish? Did you do a half day or full day? Did you stop to snorkel? Thanks.

Fishing Charters from Paradise Island? (1 Reply)
I'm considering Chubasco Charters for a half-day with my wife (non-fisher), 13 r old daughter (non-fisher), 11 year old daughter (fisher) and 9 year old son (fishing nut) - Any feedback would be appreciated!! Also, is this something I should book in advance??

HI. I also booked with Chubasco. Captain Mike has been really responsive and helpful. I would recommend booking in advance, although I have never been deep sea fighin ing hte bahamas before, so I am no expert. I'm sure your nine year old would be disappointed if they were booked up when you got there, though! Have fun!

Chubasco Charters, Tipping Captain and Mate (1 Reply)
We are doing a 1/2 day fishing charter. I got a confirmation email from Chubasco and in it it said that it was customary to tip the captai and mate 20% of the cost of the charter, which would be $100. Would that be $100 each or a $100 for them to share, $50 each? I don't want to cheat anyone out of their tip.

I can tell you locally you only tip the mate. He's the one cutting bait, cleaning fish, and baiting hooks. Not positive how it works there.
