This was an excellent tour to learn about Bahamian culture and the people. Our guide, Captain Ron was very knowledgeable about the area and the culture. He answered all of our questions and was very helpful in telling us about great places to go and things to do. The food was very good and he explained their origins. While we don’t drink he was able to get us non-alcoholic drinks and did not try to get us to drink. We learned a lot about the history which is what we were interested in.

Such a wonderful walking tour in downtown Nassau! We couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend an afternoon on our last day in the bahamas. We met with our energetic and funny guide, Princess, and she kept us engaged throughout the 3 hour tour. We went to 6 different restaurants, and at each restaurant she would talk about the local cuisine, as well as the rich history and culture of the Bahamas. Each restaurant was unique and delicious. Along with the the restaurants, we also stopped at a few key historical buildings, such as the Graycliff hotel, Parliament building, Queen Victoria statue, etc. where she would tell us more about the history. We learned so much about the Bahamian culture in this short walking tour, something that gets easily lost if you only stay at the big resorts. I highly recommend this tour and would love to take it again if I get a chance!

Namrata, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. It's wonderful to hear that you all learned so much with Princess, and were able to explore Nassau outside of the resort! And we would love to host you again too! Cheers, Anna General Manager Tru Bahamian Food Tours

We just completed the food tour today with Lisa as our guide. Our whole group had a fantastic time learning about the culture, history, and food of the Bahamian people. Lisa is a delightful person and was so fun to be around. The food stops offered just the right tasting amounts. I would highly recommend this tour.

Loved it. Mark our guide was informative and made the tour interesting throughout. We never felt rushed and Mark always had an interesting story to tell of each location, and answered all of our questions, with lots of local knowledge and a bit of gossip thrown in for good measure! I would recommend this tour to anyone. Discovered husband was allergic to conch, Mark was alert and kept an eye on him for the rest of the tour. Hubby was fine, btw!

This tour is an absolute must perfect pairing great food with Bahamian history. Our tour guide Captain Ron was friendly knowledgeable, and entertaining. Despite the unfavorable weather conditions, Captain Ron remained optimistic and calm, which ultimately allowed all of us to follow suit. All of the tastings were delicious and provided us with an opportunity to sample food from restaurants we would have otherwise never known about in addition to learning about the unique stories behind each one.
Athena Cafe and Bahamian Cookin' were definitely personal favorites that we will go back to on our next visit.

This is a fun way to spend several hours in the port of Nassau. I highly recommend it as a great way to taste local food and see sites not normally seen. It is a walking tour, so it is very leisurely.

Fantastic experience seeing more of Nassau and sampling Bahamian cuisine! Captain Ron is friendly, fun, and knowledgeable! The food was great, and Captain Ron provided background and history of the foods and places we visited. Nice pace for a walk in warm, sunny Nassau! Highly recommend!

Princess, our guide, is a renowned story-teller and performance artist. I took away some great stories. The food tastings were very good and I especially enjoyed learning about the history of signature foods and the recipes. What a great way to combine eating authentic food and seeing beautiful historic buildings. I really got a feel for Nassau history. We stopped for lunch, chocolate, a distillery sample, a cocktail, a snack, and rum cake. Plenty to eat. A filling and fulfilling half day!
