This excursion was one of the best ones I have ever done. This was my 7th time interacting with Dolphins in a facility and I did the "Animal Lovers" option.
This included Dolphin, Stingray and Sea Lion interactions. All 3 were a lot of fun.
Our "tour guide" was none other than the AMAZING... Juliano Dorset. He was absolutely the best guide I have ever had during an excursion. Although the actual interactions were handled by professionals with each of the animals, Juliano was with us for the entire time we were on their gorgeous island. He was entertaining and knew all the animals and 'keepers' by name and never missed an opportunity to make us laugh. There are other interactions here and at the other place in Nassau that allow more time with the dolphins, BUT this was still a fantastic and memorable day

Have to give positive feedback after reading some of the negative!
Leaving the RCCL ship was very easy to board the ferry to Blue Lagoon Island. As a senior with some walking limitations I was concerned about standing and being able to participate as it was my friend who asked to do the encounter. Along the way to the Encounter docks I queried a few staff who directed us to where we could sit and wait for our time. In speaking with one of the managers he gave my friend and I permission to stand holding the awning so that we did not have to sit on the dock and we could then descend the steps to be up close and personal with Goombay the Dolphin. Precious was the trainer and she gave a well informed presentation and Goombay was a champ with all the people!
We proceeded to the photo lab and Leona was wonderful allowing us to sit on the porch until the line dissipated enough for us to view the pics. She then directed another staff member to take us through a different exit to avoid the long way around. We asked about a manager and as we left we were introduced to Latoya. We told her how wonderful the experience has been for us.
Later we went to the sit down restaurant and met Reno and the manager Jessica.
Everyone we met in our brief stay at Blue Logoon was kind, courteous and professional in their approach.

Dolphin VIP Swim was AWESOME! Booked through Carnival Cruise Line and took a short ferry ride over (safely masked - not hard to do and hey, no covid!) Our guide (whose name I WISH I could remember - she was from Jamaica and was great!) took us around to see the sea lions, rescued racoons, and touch tank first. Then Randy, the dolphin trainer, led us on the most wonderful dolphin swim ever. This was my second dolphin swim (the first was in Freeport years ago) and this was far superior. I liked that the dolphins had SO MUCH room to swim freely here. They were not forced to do anything, and in fact, our first dolphin Salvadore was more interested in the dolphin ladies than us. But after a quick swap, Finn offered us the best experience. This was truly one of the best experiences of my life and I can't wait to return. I'm doing the Seal Lion Swim next!!

Woohoo! Thanks for this glowing review Heather. We are so happy to hear that you had a wonderful time with us and our amazing dolphins. Randy is a rockstar trainer – almost as entertaining as the dolphins themselves! That Sal, though…. Glad we were able to find one of his buddies to pinch hit for him. One of the things we pride ourselves on (besides the huge amount of space our dolphins have in their all-natural marine habitat) is that we never force our animals to do anything. If they’re more interested in the girls, then the program halts until they decide they want to play with the humans or we switch them out. Thank you for visiting us, for adhering to our COVID requirements so that we can all do our best to stay safe while still having fun, and for letting us know what a great time you had. We appreciate it and look forward to introducing you to our Sea Lion crew. They are a real hoot

We booked the Dolphin Encounter as a shore excursion through Royal Caribbean (we would have been better off staying on the boat!) the problem you will run into with this cruise excursion is that so many people (on so many ships) choose this adventure and they can’t handle the capacity

It is billed as a 5+ hour experience on the island…it is not. We were told to get off the ship and line up at 10:15am. We did not get to the island until 12pm. We waited 90 minutes on the pier for ferry boats. When we arrived we were told we had to be on the ferry back at 3:15, no choice. (We had to stand in that line until 4pm before the ferry arrived. If you are counting that is 2h15 of wasted time on the “excursion”)

It advertises everywhere on their website (including here) that a buffet lunch is included. It is not. We attempted to buy vouchers and they said they couldn’t sell any because they were “going through an audit and were too crowded”. This is because they clearly oversell the experience! We were then told to go wait in line at the bar and we could order from the menu. 20 minutes later our turn in line was up and they told us we could only order a hamburger or hot dog and that it would take 30 minutes. So long story short, no lunch for our three kids and my wife and I.

Now to the dolphin encounter. It is cool, don’t get me wrong. But we arrived for our 2:00 time slot and they were so far behind (refer back to the oversold reference). We finally got in the water at 2:45 and they simply had to rush us all through their encounter. It is simply a money-making scam and not worth your time. Plus, they only give you very little time there anyway.

Please know that we were there in 2019 and had a much better experience. They were once a good excursion company, but now are not. Save your money and stay on the boat… or choose a different company.

We waited in line for a hour and a half to get a shuttle to the island . We then got water shuttles to the island as expected. We got changed and we’re looking at the dolphins near the lockers and an employee told us we couldn’t stand there until our time . Even tho other people were standing there and it wasn’t blocked off . After that , we seen what the encounter was , and that wasn’t what we were expecting. So we contacted customer service , along with ticket sales and they told us they would refund our money since we didn’t do the excursion . We got back to the ship and they then proceeded to say that we were told that we wouldn’t be refunded for the tickets if he left the excursion. If we would have known that we would have not left . No one properly informed us . We even talked to a manger .We wanted to leave right away when we got to the island, but they told us we couldn’t leave until 11:45 when the boat came to pick us up .It was the best part about the excursion, captain Conner was very informative of the area . Lastly I am no dolphin expert but I have seen a dolphin establishment run more smoothly and more efficiently than this .

Absolutely awful, would leave a negative rating if possible. Don’t be fooled by the fake pictures. (Did not book an excursion, only for beach access and lunch. March 2023) Overcrowded is an understatement. We were one of the lucky one to find a chair, or should I say one that was not broken. Staff said, find a brown umbrella they are free! Well, what he failed to mention was that the brown umbrellas were broken. None had a pin to keep them up, you had to find a stick in the sand to operate them for plus did not have a base and blew over 3x’s. Speaking of the sand, don’t count on going barefoot unless you want to dodge sharp rocks and even glass! You could tell they never take or clean the beach. Lunch provided was ridiculous. Limited menu. Staff rude and very unprofessional. Only allowed a very small cup for beverage. Take lots of money if you want to buy a bottle of water or a can of soda as they cost $5 a piece! Finally, you can forget about leaving the island early. My son has special needs and we were still denied.definitely not worth $94 a piece for this very poor maintained prison.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. This was our 2nd visit, first was 15 years ago. The dolphin encounter was much better last time, you learned about the animal, why they're there, etc. Now it is just a factory, 30 people in/out every 30 mins. Dolphin does same routine. The beach part is horrible. Not enough seats or shade. Water in lagoon is eh, the Jersey Shore maybe better. The food and cost for it, ugh. You don't know your time for encounter until you get off your cruise. They get you to the island and you're stuck until it's your ship's turn to go back. At least it looks like they employ many people. Maybe if they raise the price a bit and reduce the number of people that they take, it could be a better experience. Just because you could make the lagoon, doesn't mean that should have. 1 star just for the dolphin and the ferry ride back - they had the party rockin'

I did the Royal Dolphin Swim and it was AMAZING!

My only wish is that I didnt do the VIP Beach day for my boyfriend as he missed most of the day on the beach taking pictures of me with the dolphins.

Day started with a boat ride over to the island. Once we got off the boat we were separated from the VIP Beach group so I could do my swim. Altogether the swim was about 2 hours by the time everyone had their turn with the dolphins.

After I was finished we walked over to the VIP beach area and had a fabulous lunch then headed to the beach. Since we missed the tour telling us where to go we ended up in one area with alot of rocks and waves so we took a few pictures then wandered around a bit before heading back up to meet the boat. I thought it was an all day pass but it was only until 1pm when we had to get back on the boat to head back so beware if you book more than one thing. Other than that it was amazing and I would do it all over again!!

This was an amazing experience. We did the Royal dolphin swim and shark experience. We spent a full hour, in the water, with the dolphins. These beautiful mammals are so intelligent. Our guide was absolutely terrific. He was one of the dolphin trainers and was exceptional. He not only educated us on the dolphins, but made sure that we were having a wonderful experience. It was so much fun to have the dolphins push us, tow us and spin us. So much fun! We also spent a couple of hours on the beach, had lunch and did some swimming . Our daughter had a day pass to play on the inflatable swim equipment, as well as participate md in the shark experience. It was well worth the price, and much better than what our resort was offering. Would highly recommend!

We did the Animal Lovers program giving us the opportunity to interact with dolphins, sea lions, and sting rays. Our guide, Juliano, was AMAZING as were all of the trainers and other staff on the island. I highly recommend this program or just spending a day at Blue Lagoon island. The island was gorgeous with white sands and beautiful clear water, you won't regret it!
