The sand was good but there was trash up near the cement barrier. Found lots of sea glass there as it is everywhere. The water was warm and good but was a bit worried about glass with all the sea glass I found. All of the sea glass I found had rounded edges and not fresh broken glass. Upon leaving we walked down to the chair rental/hut to leave the beach that way. In the parking lot up behind the cement barrier was a deceased dog with another dog next to it itching viciously. There were a lot of locals there and they did nothing for the dogs. I contacted a local rescue but they could not help as they are at overflow. It was a horrible feeling of helplessness to not be able to do anything. It is a nice beach away from Junkanoo which is the tourist beach. After this experience I am not sure I would go there again.

A beach near downtown Nassau and close to the Arawak Cay (Fish Fry). This beach
joins the Junkanoo Beach. Which is more frequented by tourists from the cruise ships, because it has more facilities, And is closer to the downtown. So if you are looking for a quiet beach, rest and peace. You have to be here. But i have heard that it can be very busy with locals during the weekends. Be aware that this beach has no facilities. You have to bring your own beach bed/ Chairs. At the end of Arawak Cay there are some bars/ small eateries near the beach. But they open late. Sonia's Jerk is one of them. I have eaten some Jerk chicken and jerk spare ribs there. But I cant say that it was heaven.
There is a boardwalk leading you all the way to Junkanoo Beach. I would not choose to go to a beach like this. Because it has no facilities. The beach itself is beautiful., The first part has palm trees. The second part doesn't. And that's it. I can imagine that some people would love it here.

Went to the beach after a walking tour of Nassau. The sand was great and the water was beautiful. The kids went snorkelling but there wasn't much to see, so probably not a great snorkelling spot.

Since this beach is so near to Junkanoo Beach, some of the big beach crowds from the cruise ships spill over, but on the whole, it is much quieter than most beaches near the cruise docks. One thing we really liked with the smooth concrete promenade which skirted the water's edge. This walkway allowed visitors and residents alike with mobility issues to enjoy a seaside walk.

This beach stop was part of a one day cruise stop. We were trying things off the beaten path. Our day started at the Ardastra Zoo, then a stop at Twin Brothers in Fish Fry, and finally - this beach.
If walking from Fish Fry, this is the first public beach you come to. We parked our towels under some palm trees and had the beach almost completely to ourselves. The few other people on the beach when we arrived were locals. Some girls on the beach chatted up my teens asking questions about the US and sharing stories about school. They were surprised we were part of a cruise ship as they said tourists didn't usually make it to that beach. It was an amazing and relaxing afternoon. I realized what a true gem this beach was when we headed back towards the cruise ship area and passed Junkanoo Beach.
The best part of this beach was the local feel and the fact that there was NO crowding. The down side was that there was a lot of trash on the beach - chip bags, etc., and there are no public facilities such as restrooms or snack bars.
We loved our beach choice and would definitely return!

Is there any snorkeling here?

You could snorkel here, but there isn't much to see. There's no reef nearby, but the water is crystal clear!
We loved that this beach was quieter than the others just a 100 yards away and was cleaner too!
