Located just across from the Ferry Dock, this should be your first stop when you arrive. They have a wealth of information, hiking trails, maps, etc. The staff is very friendly and most helpful. They have a very nice gift shop. It's a nice place to pick up a t-shirt.

The St John Visitors Center has brief exhibits about the history of the island and is a good place to stop in for information about guided tours, hikes, and such. It is an easy walk from the ferry landing and might be a good place to start your visit especially if you are interested in organized nature activities. There is... More

Worth the stop to get maps, books, & t-shirts. They have some nice history about the island and will share tips on great places to visit while on St. John. Very friendly and helpful staff. Buy a gift or shirt to support the National Parks!

We visited no less than three times in five days, and each time the staff was friendly and went above and beyond to assist us in planning hikes and visits throughout the park. The on-site store here is better than the Friends of the Park store in Mongoose Junction. My only disappointment is that we did not have a chance... More

I'm trying to do all the national parks so I've been to a lot of visitor centers. Very small one here. I didn't even see a film here (maybe I missed it). Wanted to get a "100 year of the national parks patch" at this site but didn't see any. A small shop and some exhibits. This seems to just... More

The Virgin Island National Park Visitors Center is a large building in Cruz Bay, with a children's playground next door. The rangers/staff are very helpful, there are bathrooms, and as expensive as everything is in St. John, I thought the gift shop items were very tasteful and reasonably priced. You may want to consider the Reef Bay Hike, which you... More

Free maps, a few nice displays on local culture and nature. Super friendly service. Nice, national-park-quality souvenirs. Definitely worth it to drop in here and chat with the people manning the desk for tips on snorkeling and sights to see.

This is definitely the first place to go when you get to St John. Everything you need to know about Virgin Islands National Park. Maps, books, exhibits, activities schedule, even souvenirs. I picked up a hikers guide that was priceless for my adventures. Every trail on the island, including length and degree of difficulty. Also a beautiful facility, right on... More

You can park at the visitors center. There are souvenirs, t-shirts, books, etc. available for purchase. You will also find free maps of St. John. The staff we talked to was very nice and knew a lot about St. John and the neighboring islands. At the visitor's center, you will also receive a parking permit (for free) if you intend... More
