Scott and Kristen are two of the absolute best and greatest people I've ever met, and there's no one else I'd rather spend the day sailing around with! From history lessons to stories and jokes, Scott is so knowledgeable and full of love for the islands and life. We stopped to snorkel, checked out the BVI, took a little hike, and enjoyed thee best drinks made by Kristen. The boat and its captains have anything you could need or want. If you love being on the water, love good company, and want a spectacular adventure on your trip, then I can't recommend El Gato enough. Looking forward to the day I return!

Our group booked two day trips aboard the El Gato. I cannot fully express how magical those two days were with Captain Scott and Kristen! Day 1: Captain Scott and Kristen picked our group of 6 (four adults, two kids) at Cruz Bay. They greeted us as old friends and insisted the boat was our "home" for the day and we should make ourselves comfortable. We set out for BVI enjoying the beauty of the islands passing by as Kristen served a light breakfast of cinnamon rolls and our first round of drinks. Captain Scott suggested a quick snorkel stop off St. John where he encouraged the kids to jump off the side of the boat....which quickly became a favorite activity. Next stop...JOST! We anchored at Soggy Dollar to sip on Painkillers and grab lunch at Hendo's. Captain Scott had one last stop that he insisted the kids would love. We cruised through the BVI's as told us the story of Norman Island and its connection to Treasure Island. The kids were in awe! Once there, he jumped in with us and gave us a personal snorkel tour of the caves. What an amazing experience!! As we headed back to port, Kristen served a charcuterie on the top deck for us to enjoy as we wound down the amazing day and enjoyed the setting sun. Day 2 (Thanksgiving Day): We decided it was best to cruise around the USVI and let it be a captain's choice day. Best. decision. ever. Kristen served up assorted muffins, fruit, etc as a light breakfast as we cruised our way to our first stop. Our first stop was Buck Island for morning snorkeling in Shipwreck Cove where an old freighter was dropped in '76 then broke into three pieces during Hugo in 85 ft of water, making it a shallow dive site. We then popped around the corner to Turtle Cove to see some amazing fish in the reef and, of course, sea turtles! By this point we had worked up quite an appetite from snorkeling (and the kids jumping off the boat) that it was time to settle down for our Thanksgiving meal. What do you eat on Thanksgiving when on a boat, in the Caribbean? Pizza Pi, of course!! They called in our order, dropped anchor in Christmas Cove & Captain Scott loaded the kids up in the dinghy to get our order. While waiting for the order to be complete, he took the kids for a quick speed ride around the cove which they were over the moon about. He brought Alfredo (Pizza Pi's own puppy) over for a quick visit (another thing the kids were gah-gah over). We took our time in the cove, listening to music, snorkeling, jumping off the boat and loving every second of life aboard the El Gato. We enjoyed another charcuterie on the way back to port. All full of long lasting memories, utter contentment, a bit of melancholy knowing we were leaving the boat but hopeful that there will be another day in the future that we will board the El Gato, greet the captain and his first mate as old friends confident that we are going to experience another unforgettable day.

Captain Scott and Kristen are simply THE BEST! Our family had the opportunity to spend the day on the water with Scott and Kristen. It ended up being the best day of our trip. We learned a ton about the islands from Scott, Kristen makes the best drinks in the Islands, and they were instant friends. I would recommend them a million times for a memorable and wonderful experience while in St. Thomas or St. John.

Just returning from a fantastic trip to St Thomas and St John for a long awaited Girl’s Trip! The six of us ventured out with Captain Scott and Kristin and had an AMAZING TIME!!! This day on the boat was by far the highlight of our trip! The boat had a fully stocked bar with top shelf liquor. We were served cinnamon rolls and fruit in morning, with a light snacks of crackers, cheese and deli meats in the afternoon. Sailing with Captain Scott and Kristin was like hanging out with old friends. They were both super accommodating and took care of our every need. They were sooo friendly and cool! We got some history on some of the places we sailed too and snorkeling lessons too. I would not have changed one thing and would definitely sail with Captain Scott and Kristin again it ever in the VI again!!! 10 stars!!!!

We spent the day with Captain Scott and First mate Kristen on El Gato for my 50th birthday celebration. It was an absolutely perfect experience and by far the best day of the vacation!! Captain Scott did a great job filling us in on all of the history of each island and knows lots of fun folklore. The boat is very comfortable and provides plenty of space including shaded areas for everyone. The boat is also equipped with snorkeling gear if interested. The drinks and food were plentiful and delicious. Try their special drink....the Nilla Killer!! Scott and Kristen truly provide all of the amenities so that you can sit back, relax and island hop to all of the fun bars and restaurants. You will not be sorry that you chose El Gato Charter! We had a perfect day in paradise!
