For those of you that had the joy of enjoying Captain Richard, count your blessing. Unfortunately hurricane Irma has taken the life of this gentle soul and the Athena is now lost at sea. He was a good man with a gentle heart that loved sharing his boat. May we all pray for his family as they mourn his loss.

Admiral Richard provided us with a memorable day of exciting sailing and beautiful snorkeling. His service went above and beyond what I would expected. When our youngest adventurer got tired of snorkeling, he even took him out in the dingy to show him a good time. He handled the boat with expertise, leaving us feeling relaxed and comfortable. I highly recommend a private charter with Admiral Richard aboard Spree 2.

We went sailing with Captain Richard on the beautiful sailboat, Spree II. The boat was stable & comfortable, the captain friendly and informative and the Virgin Islands scenery as breathtaking as ever! Richard customizes the trip to your expectations- you can sail more if you like or spend more time snorkeling or on the beach, it's your day! We enjoyed snorkeling at 2 great spots where we saw tons of fish and gorgeous healthy coral. We can't wait to go out with Pirate Sailing Adventures again! We loved the sailboat the Spree II and next time are just as excited to board their 2nd sailboat, The Goddess Athena. Don't hesitate to sail with the Pirate, you will for sure have an awesome day!

Don't look any further! Sail with Captain Richard. I have daysailed in St. John for 25+ years and he's the best. Captain Richard is a skilled and experienced sailor. He knew this place like the back of his hand. He pointed out interesting natural features and took us to great snorkeling spots. He was flexible and accommodating to our interests. We appreciated that we actually sailed (very little motoring) most of the time.
