My wife and I stayed in a resort on the east side of the island of St. Thomas. We booked for an excursion to the island of St. John. The trip was cancelled. We really looked forward to spending some time in the beaches of St. John. THERE IS ANOTHER WAY! There are taxis driving back and forth from the... More

Very easy way to get to St John. Good service and safe. Not too crowded and friendly staff. I've used it several times and will use it again.

It all depends on which ferry company is running your boat. On my way over to St John, the staff was friendly and accommodating. My buddy and I were allowed to bring our drinks onboard as long as we stayed up top. Our "lap" luggage was deemed to big, but was checked without charge by the crew. A different story... More

The Red Hook Ferry at St. Thomas is how you will travel to other islands! It is $7 for each adult and $1 for each child one-way. They charge $4 per each large bag (purses and back packs are not charged). The early ferry runs at 6.30am and the last one runs at 11pm (this is based on my experience... More

The ferry to St. John and back is super easy! 15 minutes and you are there. The ferry is clean and efficient leaving on the hour and on time. $14 round trip is decent and $2 round trip for kids is a deal!

On the ride from St Thomas to St. John, a guy met us at our taxi and took our bags on to his cart. We weren't sure what was going on so we let him take them. You have to pay for each large bag ($4 I think) at the ticket counter but then everyone touching your suitcase expects a... More

Great way to travel quickly and cheaply to St John! The workers are not the friendliest people but the ferry gets you where you're going.
