This is the cheapest way to get to and from St. John as a passenger without a vehicle. The ferry is pretty cheap, like $14.00 per person round trip. You can go over any time and come back any time. The ferry has set departure times from Red Hook and Cruz Bay so check the schedules so you don't get... More

If you're staying on St. Thomas, a trip to St. Johns is worth the trip. With a multitude of other offerings, the ferry out of Red Hook is an easy option. Watch out for traveling around "rush" hours as there is a large contingent of staff using the ferry around these times and it can get crowded but otherwise it's... More

The ferry between St. Thomas and St. John runs on the hour from the terminal at Red Hook. For the next couple of years, parking will be a real pain because the lot is roped off for a proposed garage. The ferry itself is spartan - and not luxurious in the least. But it is reliable and, presumably, safe.

The Red Hook, St. Thomas to Cruz Bay, St. John passenger ferry is reliable and on time and takes about 25 minutes. Up top you get sun and views. Down below you can avoid the sun and wind, and the views are almost as good. This is one of the most attractive ferry trips in the world. You are surrounded... More

My husband and I just returned from a two week trip on the east end of St. Thomas. We chose this area because of the options to other islands from Red Hook. We ended up using the ferry 5 times during our stay at $14 pp round trip. I mention this because we later discovered there is an option of... More

This ferry leaves every hour to Cruz Bar, St. John. Easy ride and always on time. It's the best way to get from St. Thomas to St. John.

We went to St. John one day and caught the early ferry. Parked in a lot about 1/2 mile away and taxi brought us to the dock. The staff at the ferry window was very nice and helpful. The locals waiting to board were also very friendly. There is a bar inside which serves great drinks. Bartender also very friendly.... More

The Ferry was reasonable and you arrived in the center of town. Cabs were available for tours or to the beach. We walked to the stores and restaurants and felt safe and enjoyed the water views and beach close by.

Very easy ferry ride to St. John. It is a long trip from St. Thomas airport but ultimately the quickest way to St. John. Easy way for a St John day trip from Red Hook resorts

The car ferry from Red Hook (St Thomas) to St John is, in our experience, the most convenient way to get to St John for your vacation. We rent our jeep at the airport, get groceries in St Thomas, and then take the car on the barge ferry to St John. Car rentals are cheaper at the airport and you... More
