My husband and I are avid snorkelers and Phil never fails to deliver. We went out with him and Tarn twice during our vacation and both days were memorable. Phil takes a max of 6 passengers and we've never been on the boat with more than 2 other people. He caters to all levels of expertise and safety is always... More

A very relaxing and enjoyable experience. Captain Phil is a joy and knows so much about the sea and the life in the sea. He also has a lot of great stories to amaze. Tarn is the best crew you could imagine - everything was great!

It was the highlight of our trip to St. John. Capt. Phil and Tarn helped us with our snorkeling gear and made the experience of being one with the barrier reef fish. Just awesome!! We were educated about some fish and learned how sand is a product of the fish! Capt. Phil is quite knowledgeable about octopus and has some... More

We are frequent visitors to St. John and were so thankful to be able to get the opportunity to sail on the beauty of a sailboat "The Wayward Sailor" Capt. Phil, is a genuine, young at heart, spirited, interesting guide. He comes in at a close 2nd to "The Most Interesting Man in the world" ~ Captain Phil is fascinating... More

We've done the party boats where a herd of swimmers take to the water before opening the bar. We've found beautiful beaches and snorkeled solo. This is the real deal with a serious, seasoned sailor who knows the islands, its waters and its bounty of nature. He is careful about safety. He knows the world below the sea. And he... More

We have been out with Capt. Phil at least 10 times. It's always the most memorable day of the trip. He takes us to places that no one else visits for a great snorkel experience. He will get in the water, after carefully ensuring that you mask fits perfectly. He will take you to the areas that you would most... More

We booked a half day snorkel trip with Cpt. Phil on a recent trip to St John. We where looking for a smaller operator with the right experience and the Wayward sailor was the best choice we could have ever made. Cpt. Phill's mate Tarn was amazing with my family and I appreciate all of the personal attention we received... More

We went for sunset sail on Wayward Sailor this evening. Captain Phil and his first mate, Tarn; were so great! We had super great time with them. It was our 20th anniversary and they took my husband and I, with 4 kids out for sail. They sailed to uninhabited island, brought us to the beach and Captain Phil remarried us,... More

We did a half day (morning) with Capt Phil, and his mate Trista, on his sailboat. He took us out to the island he lives on, and we did some great snorkeling in the water there. He was with us in the water, and was very helpful in telling us about things, and pointing things out to us. The water... More

Captain Phil and his mate Tarn did a wonderful job today teaching us the basics of snorkeling, guiding us on a tour of the reefs near Christmas Island, and sailing us to and from our destination. First mate Tarn made a wonderful lunch as well! Captain Phil was very informative about the area as well as the coral and sea... More
