We have been out with Capt. Phil at least 10 times. It's always the most memorable day of the trip. He takes us to places that no one else visits for a great snorkel experience. He will get in the water, after carefully ensuring that you mask fits perfectly. He will take you to the areas that you would most... More

We booked a half day snorkel trip with Cpt. Phil on a recent trip to St John. We where looking for a smaller operator with the right experience and the Wayward sailor was the best choice we could have ever made. Cpt. Phill's mate Tarn was amazing with my family and I appreciate all of the personal attention we received... More

We went for sunset sail on Wayward Sailor this evening. Captain Phil and his first mate, Tarn; were so great! We had super great time with them. It was our 20th anniversary and they took my husband and I, with 4 kids out for sail. They sailed to uninhabited island, brought us to the beach and Captain Phil remarried us,... More

We did a half day (morning) with Capt Phil, and his mate Trista, on his sailboat. He took us out to the island he lives on, and we did some great snorkeling in the water there. He was with us in the water, and was very helpful in telling us about things, and pointing things out to us. The water... More

Captain Phil and his mate Tarn did a wonderful job today teaching us the basics of snorkeling, guiding us on a tour of the reefs near Christmas Island, and sailing us to and from our destination. First mate Tarn made a wonderful lunch as well! Captain Phil was very informative about the area as well as the coral and sea... More

You definitely want to see his pictures of Octopi and sharks. They took us to a place I had never... More

We first sailed with Captain Phil on his Wayward Sailor 10 years ago and loved our time aboard. When we booked our trip in mid June to stay on St. John we also booked our full day trip on the Wayward Sailor. A trip to St. John would not be complete without snorkeling with Captain Phil. He made us feel... More

Captain Phil is an experienced mariner who in the past spent many years living on this boat. He knows St. John, the surrounding waters and their creatures like you would know your neighborhood and neighbors. He and his personable mate made an effort to connect with each of the guests as we sailed (or motor-sailed, depending on the currents) to... More

Captain Phil is a lovely man, lots of interesting stories to tell and an expert mariner! We snorkeled in a great spot, lots of wildlife and even a 5' nurse shark for added excitement! Highly recommend spending the day on the water with Captain Phil!

My wife and I sailed with Captain Phil 15 years ago, and this year we took our three kids (12,10 and 7) out on a half-day with him. It was just like we remembered, the snorkeling spot was great, and he and Tarn were the perfect hosts for our family. We remembered his interest in ocean life and knew it... More
