Sami's Fresh Mart is located in American Yacht Harbor, Red Hook, St. Thomas U.S.V.I. This mart is conveniently open everyday from 6a.m-2a.m, seven days a week, near a beautiful marina view and lots of parking space. We chartered a boat here for the day. Great area for bar hopping and where you catch ferry to St John.

Booted our car for parking here at a cost of $250. We ate at a restaurant AND shopped here spent a lot of money and got a boot as a thank you for our business. (Making us late for another appointment) Shamelessly hustling tourists will never do business with ANYONE in this plaza based on this experience. What a shame.

Avoid this place if you’re visiting Red Hook. The staff here has no interest in improving your vacation, they only want to scam you out of your hard earned money. Many other places on St Thomas are worth your time and money.

Stopped in Redhook for lunch after our morning kayak tour. Parked in the yacht club underground 2 hour parking garage, it was 1:00pm. Arrived back at 2:45pm to find security had placed a boot on our jeep with a note to report to the security office to pay a $150 fine. The guard told us we had arrived at 12:30 and to pay the fine. We demanded to see the security tapes, the guard went to the marina office to check. He returned and said he could reduce the fine to $50. We refused to pay and demanded once again to see the security tapes; after 10 more minutes of debate the guard relented, said he hated his job and removed the boot.
Take some advice; record the time you arrive, this is a tourist trap to make extra money.

I've been living on st. Thomas for 5 years and have enjoyed patronizing the shops, restaurants and boat charters they have to offer for many years. But recently there seems to be something very corrupt happening in the parking lot security. I had heard lots of rumors about people experiencing different levels of misfortune after parking there. These include everythingverything from parking boots after having dinner to stolen cars and dubbed over security tapes. Sadly, the Redhook area does not have good parking options other than American yacht harbors parking garage. The restaurants seem powerless to help their patrons. So if you are going to any of these places Bree prepared to move your vehicle every 2 hours or pay whatever price the security office feels like making you pay on that given day.

We came into Red Hook after a week enjoying the BVI to provision, do some repairs, and get set for a charter heading down island. American Yacht Harbor is too shallow to accommodate our yacht, so we had to anchor out and dinghy in - and this is where our problems began - we had a number interactions with AYH staff, none of them friendly, starting with them padlocking our dinghy during a brief run to a laundromat on an early Sunday morning and only after I mentioned that I had bolt cutters did they relent from their demand of $100 to unlock it, and merely charged us $20 for dockage for the morning for our 10' RIB - this for tying up next to other dinghies in a section of dock that was unlabelled. Unlike the IGY marina in Charlotte Amalie, where staff came out to help us tie up when we approached, at AYH the staff seemed genuinely antagonistic, unfriendly, and unhelpful. On top of this, the docks are run-down and falling apart, and after finding the designated "dinghy dock" section (buried in the back of the dock section) we found that it was inhabited with derelicts and was falling apart, with numerous protruding bolts and nails threatening our inflatable. I was very unimpressed, and would definitely not recommend doing business here.
