Took the calypso boat over to St John and the toro boat returning - both boats are gorgeous, smooth, and large. The captains were great, too. On time & friendly. On the return we were running early and they picked us up earlier than scheduled when we requested it. John is extremely responsive, we plan to use them again.

We spent a great day on Inovation II with Captain Daniel. It was our small family of just my husband and I with our toddler son so we had plenty of space to relax on the boat in the shade between our stops. I was glad we chose a private charter as we were able to go at our own pace and take the extra time as needed to get situated with our toddler.
We did not have a plan for stops for the day and relied on Daniel for suggestions which he did excellent with. We hit 2 great snorkel spots (Christmas cove and Little St. James) which were both wonderful. Saw an array of coral and fish that we weren’t able to see from beaches so far.
Stopped of for lunch at The Beach bar in Cruz bay (this was the perfect choice as service was fast so we didn’t waste time off the boat - food was excellent too)
We finished the day off at one of the beaches of Caneel bay which we nearly had all to ourselves - saw some baby turtles, large sting rays and found a medium sized conch! A nice relaxing end to the day.

We chartered a boat for the day with Captain Patrick, and he was amazing! So knowledgeable about the island and a great historian as well as being a very fun and capable Captain. He took us to some amazing places. Highly recommended- request him if he’s available!

3rd trip with St Thomas Boat Rental. Service is outstanding. Quick reply when setting up your rental. Captain this time was Danial and he did a great job. Picked us up at Cruz Bay dock and off we went.Snorkeling was great, turtles, stingrays and starfish sighting delighted our group.
Looking forward to our return in November for another day on the water.
Also they have great private ferry service between St Thomas and St Johns. We used it this trip and it was great.
Picked us up at Cruz Bay and dropped us off at Crowne Bay. Helped with taxi service from airport.

After doing lots of research online, I found St. John boat rental and was in awe of the quick response from John as well as their price and fuel guarantee. I booked in April for August 15. John was laid back about our agenda (or lack there of) and was super helpful narrowing down what we could fit into our day long charter. We ended up with the best experience of our whole trip. It was my fiancé's birthday, and we had recently gotten engaged. We started with a scenic/historic tour of St. John and then snorkeling off the boat on the less populated side of Cinnamon Bay. We saw lots of fish, coral, starfish easy currents and plenty of areas to explore. We brought our own snorkel gear, but John had gear if we needed it. We then went over and checked into the BVI customs in Tortola (which John did, no need to leave the boat!). We then headed off to Normal Island, we passed the Indians which was cool to see and Snorkel at a quiet, one mooring ball snorkel spot off Norman Island it was AMAZING. There were coral heads the size of a car, barracuda, a reef shark, sea turtles and giant sand dollars. I am a good swimmer but not much for diving with the snorkel on and there is plenty to see, the fiancé is a great diver and would dive down to things a little closer. There was a bit of current here (not bad) John dropped us off at the start of the reef and we drifted down to wear it "ended" and he picked us up. We then went to Foxy's on Jost Van Dyke, got lunch and beat out a quick lunch passing shower. We then got back aboard and went to Sandy Spit/ Corona Island which was our favorite part (Can't wait to go back someday!) where we were the ONLY ones there...it was like being a pirate discovering an uninhabited island for the first time....such a once in a life time experience. We then went to White Bay and went to Soggy Dollar (listen to John get the Nilla Killa) was also a great experience, so much fun and so laid back. We then headed back, our gas bill for the day was a measly $66 for the whole day of traveling. Overall, can't say enough great things about John and his boat charters. We recently recommended John to a friend visiting St. John and they were so thankful for the recommendation they also said it was the best part of their trip. I can't wait to go back, top notch service, easy going and you can NOT beat the price. If you want to make your trip memorable, special and something you will day dream about when you get back to work....rent with St. John Boat Rental!

This was the best thing we could have done and worth every penny!! Its the most amazing way to see the Virgin Islands. Captain Justin was our captain and he knows so much about the Virgin Islands locations, history and sea life. Having my teens be able to wi fi their music right to the boat made them so happy. My children didn't have their passports so we stayed within the USVI and there was so much to see with out even traveling to the British VI. We were unsure of where we wanted to go and left it up to Captain Justin and we couldn't have found a better captain. He was great and such a professional! He took us to many places. It's so nice to have the freedom to stay at a place as long as you would like and also be able to leave any time you want. When you tour with groups you don't have that luxury like here with St Thomas boat rental. It was true luxury. We were able to swim with turtles at Trunk bay, and Captain Justin got us there early. By the time we were done and ready to leave the tour boats started to arrive and it was getting crowded. We were there early so we had the place all to our selves, thanks to Justin. We also went snorkeling by a wreck and a real live shark swam with us for a good 30 feet!! It was the most amazing experience that again, we would never have seen on a crowded tour! We did a full day rental and the day went by so fast and we wished it would never end! Cant rave enough about this company, the boat it self and Captain Justin!

We contacted St Thomas Boat Rental so last minute, desperately looking for the way to get to Virgin Gorda and tour around the USVI and BVI. John was so prompt and contacted us back within minutes! Because of John, we were able to leave the USVI feeling that we got to see everything that we had planned on seeing! I have to say that Ryan, our Captain, was such a fountain of information too! We had the best day with him. He was funny, pleasant, and so knowledgeable about everything. You will notice that John has the best prices on the island as well! Wonderful trip, unforgettable day! Don't go with any other company--this one is the best.

Whether you've visited the islands before or this is your first time this is HANDS DOWN the best way to explore the islands. You customize your own itinerary for the day, and get to go to all the best off-the-grid locations. Our group of 10 had an amazing time visiting Sandy Spit (a must see, could spend all day at that place!), had lunch at Foxy's Taboo (great pizza & steak salad), Willy T's (such a party!) and Cinnamon Bay off St. John. It was ridiculously economical price wise when it was all broken down, and was an extremely smooth ride. As a local of the islands this is our go-to company for getting out on the water. Alex was our Captain- he was extremely professional, accommodating, and helped create an unforgettable day out on the water for us. Do your family and friends a favor- skip the mass-produced trips and rent a boat for a day with these guys so you can create a truly unforgettable itinerary of the islands. 5 Stars! Can't recommend these guys enough!

Captain Roy was great! Not knowing what to expect he made sure the trip was great! He picked us up at took us snorkeling at little buck island - evidently not to be confused with the buck island off of St. Croix. This buck island has tons of turtles! I have never seen so many green sea turtles in such small cove. Our second stop was a place called St. James a place the cruise ship boats dont go to. It was a lot less crowded and we saw some cool stuff on the reef there.

The boat is a small catamaran which is why we choose them. I was afraid of our kids getting motion sickness or sea sick with the waves but the ride was really stable. We were very happy with our decision and would use this company on our next trip to the islands.
