Main street is filled with duty-free shops and tourists can stock up like pirates on gold and rum-a definite must do in addition to exploring the many cobble-stoned alleyways that are more charming. The eateries on Main Street tend to be great.

THE busy crowded commercial street for shopping. We have come to ST Thomas for 25 years in the winter. We are New Yorkers This hub has the good the bad and the ugly Very agressive street hustlers and barkers will come at you. There also are very reputable jewelers there. Yery good values there on diamonds and precious stones BUT... More

Typical rip off stores you'd find on any island. Has some decent bars and places to get provisions. A few of the jewelry stores and decent tho cause no tax.

This is the hub of the capital of St Thomas and a magnet for shoppers. There are jewellery shops galore as well as a collection of electrical, photographic and clothing shops. This is US island so the Americans, and other cruise ship travellers ,flock here for tax free bargains. If you don't like shopping, AVOID. However it is worth a... More

My husband and I did quite a bit of shopping and besides being hasseled by taxi drivers and store employees, shopping was pretty good. We stayed on Veterens Drive instead of "Main street" (Dronningens Gade). DG is full of jewelry stores and the deals arent that great. Veterens Drive is along the harbor and is manly clothing and nick nack... More

The area was very pretty and def shoppers mecca. Some vendors are pushy as to getting you into shops. It lacks restaurants or cafes especially since it would go so nice with the old style of area. Its saturated with shops. Its worth a few hours to see.

Main street was lined with very expensive shops mostly featuring diamonds and expensive jewelry. The street was completely closed up on Sunday and most of the shops were only open when the cruise ships were in port.

There are quite a few shops mostly jewelry and t shirts and souvenirs. Prices are pretty reasonable but not as good as St Maarten. There are several great restaurants also.
