Endless stores

You can walk for blocks and see endless shops selling souvenirs, jewelry and watches. Outside of a few luxury shops most are basically the same.

This street is incredible - it defies understanding as to how a whole series of shops apparently selling almost the same things can survive in such volume. An area to be avoided unless you are a shopping tragic.

The one thing I try to avoid is passing by shops where shop owners try to get me to go in to see their merchandise. It seems this is the going thing on Main St. I was not there to shop but to explore the area and especially the side allies which are fun to walk through with all the... More

It's felt like I was the French Quarter in New Orleans, except minus the smell of booze and vomit, and minus the bars. I say that though from the close quarters sidewalks and the walking in the street and it was countless jewelry stores basically. It was pretty boring but the lady and I did it just before flying out... More

We walked along Main Street to shop. The hustlers were so bad we weren't enjoying our shopping experience. We were told to pay for everything in cash. There is very little law enforcement to be seen. The place made me feel uncomfortable. There were many shops but difficult to reach because of the hustlers.

Horrendous tourist hell. Multiple jewelry and tourist shops that all look the same and flocks of obscene cruise ship tourists. A ghost town once the tourists leave, all shuttered closed and quiet.

Main Street is where all the stores are. It is safe and walkable. Taxis roam around this street to take you back to your hotel or ship when you get tired. Many inside passageways offer shade and benches fro breaks. The street is closely watched by the VI Police.

We had a lovely stroll through the high street looking into all the shops and enjoying the different things offered for sale. You are safe and relatively unhassled. This is a good destination.

Shopping was great... People was nice. We visited a number of stores looking for a special ring similar to the one I purchase 37 years ago for my wife... Happy to say we found it... Happy wife happy life...
