Though it is not really a castle, the history and location of the place is spectacular. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. It is a little touristy, but it's worth it. The views from the top of the tower are the best I've found in...More

Best $10 spent in St. Thomas! Climb the 99 steps to Blackbeard's Castle where a guide tells a great story about Blackbeard the Pirate. Then climb up the tower for a great view! Coming down there are a couple houses to sop in & tour...More

So the name "Blackbeard's Castle" is a bit of a stretch, surely designed to bring in tourists who know no better. The tower itself was a watchtower for Fort Christian on the bay below, and would have been an excellent vantage point for that fort....More

We stayed on Villas III the first week and Pirates Pension the 2nd week. The view is great from almost any place there. Note of warning...it's quite a hike up a bunch of stairs to get from Pirates Pension to the pool area.

The storyteller was so good you almost believed he had a firsthand experience on board the pirate ship with Blackbeard! The views are spectacular from this vantage point.

Great grounds, but only open a few hours and only a few days per week, not everyday! Check the hours before you go,. it's Monday thru Thursday 9am-2pm I believe.

Tony was great! Kept us entertained and made us want more. Grounds are beautiful! We even met a kitty friend, Basil who lived on the grounds and was extremely friendly. Staff was polite and informative. Lots of rich history and interesting stories. A must visit!!

Nice place to visit on the way back to the ship from the beach if you do not mind a bit of a tourist trap. My wife and I did enjoy this. Great views from the castle. The history was also interesting.

This was not on our things to do list while in St. Thomas. We were going to ride the sky ride for the views that were listed in our travel book. We had taken a snorkeling excursion that morning and asked our guides for their...More

The taxi to the top cost us $4 per person. Considering what I paid for the cruise...my wallet opened up pretty quick for that! At the end of the "tour" you end up at the bottom of the hill about a 5 minute walk from the... More

It depends on which dock and which cruise line. We were on the Royal Caribbean "Oasis of the Seas" and for me a street bus was the answer. They have buses built on Ford truck bodies that carry about 20 people and charge a... More
