My family booked a 4 hour charter as a cruise excursion for 3 of us (me, husband and 12 year old son). Tyler was our captain and he was amazing! He definitely knows his stuff. Within minutes of dropping the first lines we had fish on. The hits kept coming and were doubled and tripled up multiple times. Tyler was great with our son and had a great sense of humor. We fished multiple locations and every one of them produced. There were a few weather events and he kept us safely fishing in sheltered locations and even provided raincoats for each of us. The boat was comfortable, well- maintained, and stocked with drinks and snacks. If we're ever lucky enough to be in St. Thomas again we're will definitely fish with Double Header again! Here's hoping the birds finally learn, lol!

Highly recommend Double Header if you like deep sea fishing. Captain Glenn’s experience took us directly to the action and Nathan didn’t miss a beat when it came to landing the catch or baiting for the next one. Absolutely great guys that was all about making us have a fantastic time. Lots of Yellowfins, Skipjacks and Mahi-mahi. Even managed to feel the pull from a Blue Marlin before a shark intervened. Oh well - it’ll just be bigger next time.
Book your time with them and they will make sure you have a blast.

We had an amazing 4 hour charter with Capt. Tyler. He knew where to catch the fish and he kept us busy reeling them in. We caught a good variety and were very happy with the success. The only criticisms is that we spent time getting bait fish which we thought would have been done prior to our charter. That probably reduced our fishing time by half an hour (there was an incident where the rope of the cast net got caught under the boat and he had to dive in to cut it loose). After we returned to the states we also reviewed the website and it stated clearly that the Capt would filet 20 pounds of the fish caught on a 4 hour trip. I would clearly review the policies prior to booking. We certainly caught more than the 20 pounds. I assume he decided that since we were leaving the next day we could not eat all we caught but we would have made arrangements to bring it back with us. I have not found any restrictions from customs on bringing fish back. When going through customs they specifically asked about value of what we were bringing and stated "no seeds, plants, fruit, etc." Next time we will make arrangements to bring our fish, there was a lot of good tuna that I assume someone else is enjoying on our $$$.

We had a very young captain named Nathan. Born and raised in the Island and captains one of the boats for his father. He is super knowledgeable. He asked us what we wanted to fish for and what type of fishing we wanted to do. I told him it was his back yard and we would let him do his thing to give us the best opportunity to have a great day on the water. We caught some bait fish with a casting net in the first 30 minutes. 1 hour into the trip trolling imitation baits we were bit multiple times with different species of fish and had them in the boat for pictures and food for later. Black fin Tuna, Mahi, King Fish, Barracuda, snapper, grouper and so on. We eventually moved onto drift fishing and bottom fishing live bait over the reefs and were on a bunch more fish. Nathan was more then cool and accommodating to us both especially my pregnant wife who wasn’t as seasoned as I was with using the reels. He plays some good music too! We will be back!!

Went on a 6 hour offshore charter with Captain Nathan. I have to say, this captain knew what he was doing and was fully prepared with different riggings when the fish weren’t hitting one. We ended up with a few tuna and 2 great size wahoo. March isn’t their greatest fishing month there, but Nathan made it happen and put fish on the deck.

The office at Double Header Sport fishing was extremely accommodating! We had a fantastic time fishing with Kip! Kip was a young boat captain/fisherman, extremely knowledgeable, capable and personable. We had a fish on the hook almost immediately so I grabbed the pole, but I lost it and it was a Marlin!!! After that Kip educated us on how to maneuver the poles and what each pole was poised to catch, he was very supportive as we all reeled in our BIG FISH, encouraged us to do it ourselves. We caught 3 Mahi Mahi and two large Wahoo . Kip filleted the fish for us right on the dock and we took enough back to make fish tacos later in the week. DELISH!

Captain Tyler and first mate Nate went out of their way to find us some great fishing and make our trip one we will remember a lifetime. Both were very happy to answer any questions and offer any help we needed. The boat we had was first class compared to others we have had from other charters in St.Thomas. We definitely look forward to calling Tyler and Nate on booking any future fishing trips. Thanks again for giving us a great time and catching some beautiful fish.

Double Header is a great operation. We booked the 4 hour because my two sons had never been deep sea fishing before and I wasn't sure how they would like it. I did try to change it to a 6 hour but they were already booked by the time I tried. Dee, in the office, is efficient and responds in a timely manner, she was great. Eric was our captain and I let him know the situation with my sons. So we started off with the offshore to see how our luck would be. We got a hit and a Mahi fairly quick. We chased some more but it was an off day. Eric kept track of the time and raced inshore so we could bottom fish. That is where my youngest son caught the most fish out of the four of us. We all caught at least one fish that day. The kids had an awesome time! Thank you Dee and Eric for such a great time! Will definitely use over and over whenever we go back.

We are a very experienced sport fishing family and we fished on the Double Header twice this week. As a family, we booked a half day. Captain Glen and Kip, the mate, were great! My 9 year old son caught a large mahi mahi. Both of my sons and husband collectively caught several rainbow runners and black fin tuna. They also caught a skip jack tuna, horse eyed jack and a yellow tail. The other trip was a full day trip for just my husband and it was pretty epic. Captain Tyler and mate Kip were awesome!!! My husband landed 2 wahoo, one was his largest wahoo ever. He also caught approximately 35 mahi mahi, 2 yellow fin tuna and a large king fish. We absolutely recommend Double Header and will book them again the next time we vacation on St John.

Capt Nathan put us on a ton of fish! We had nonstop action all day long, and left with more fish than we can possibly eat during our trip. We managed to catch 4-5 big yellowfin, one of which got sharked leaving us with only 3/4 of the fish, 3 nice mahi, around 8-10 black fin and a handful of Bonita in the mix. The yellowfin were a huge surprise and Nathan had them feeding like crazy around the boat as he chummed them up to the surface. All in all it was a 10/10 trip and Nathan get it done! Multiple double and triple knockdowns, the excitement never stopped. Thanks capt Nathan, you truly know your waters and where to find the fish!
