Fifteen years ago, I bought a pair of Zora's sandals, and to this day, they are one of the most comfortable sandals I have ever owned. This prompted me recently to return to Zoras's and buy two more pairs! The experience was delightful. Imagine having sandals custom made for your feet! I have gotten so many compliments on my new sandals, and she also makes beautiful beach bags, small purses, passport covers, and has an array of locally made goods from pottery to beautiful artwork.

I read about Zora's on the airplane to St. Thomas, V.I. I thought I would look into the sandals and decided to buy a pair. My sister and I had sandals made for us. We were on the island for enough time to go back the 3 times needed for personally tailored sandals. There are many options of sandals and they sit you down and try on as many sandals as you like. Plenty of beautiful colors or just plain leather in wine or brown. My sister decided on a low heel, round toe and strap. I prefered a cross strap toe and no strap with a wedge heel with added cushion Both my sister and I are very happy with our sandals.

I just bought a pair. It was 3 days the 1st day to get sized the 2nd day to get fitted and the 3rd day they were made but needed to be cut down to the shape of your foot. Loved everyone in the store. Sumner did my complete shoe. Very excited for long comfortable, adventurous, friendship with my shoes.

On our recent trip to St. Thomas we had one mission only: Find Zora and get sandals made. (Okay, two missions: Sandals and bask in the sun with a margarita in hand.) Zora first moved to the island from Ohio. When asked how she began making sandals in 1962, she dryly explains, "Well, I had to do SOMETHING." Her expertise is amazing. Quality materials, perfect fit, sandals that will last a lifetime. (Unless your golden retriever eats the toe loop, then you will package it up, send to Zora, she will fix and return.) Plan on spending hours getting fitted. I also bought a canvas bag in the most lovely green. Wonderful to see Zora and her staff.

My wife and I visited Zora's sandal shop on St. Thomas in Jan. 2020 (on Miss Zora's birthday, of all days!) when we took a cruise from Miami. Getting there from the ship was easy, as they have been in business for 50 years and virtually all taxi drivers know Zora's Sandals. The shop is unassuming and is located one street off the main road (which is undergoing construction - avoid). Zora herself is quite a character, and her staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The shop sells all kinds of handmade leather goods, not just sandals. If you plan to take the sandals with you that day, get there early for a measurement, because you will need to come back about 4 hours later for a fitting. Plan accordingly... Lots of styles offered for women AND men. We were short on time, so we are having the sandals mailed to us. The prices are kind of high, but these are handmade and are custom-fit to YOUR feet. My wife was very happy with the service and quality. BTW - We had time to take a tour of the island with "Angel", who has his tour bus near the Post Office. $25 + tip and he drove us to the Mountain Top (world famous banana daiquiris and VIEWS) and dropped us off at Emerald Bay Resort beach for a couple of hours of relaxing beach time. Super nice guy and very informative and knowledgeable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED... Loved St. THOMAS!! Thanks to "Q" at Zora's and thanks to Angel Ortiz (AngelTours1956@gmail.com) for helping make our (1-day) stop in St. Thomas very memorable.
