My wife and I spent a memorable day aboard the Summerwind cruising the Matazas River and out through the spirited inlet and then out to sea. The weather was beautiful and the sails were full as we sped across the water. The ship is so comfortable above as well as below deck and our captain provided us with an excellent meal as well as all the beverages we cared to consume!
It was a exciting as the waves swelled and swept under the boat so smoothly and effortlessly. The sound of the wind in the sails and the boat cutting through the water was very peaceful.
On the way in we docked at a local restaurant for dinner and then set sail for home. My wife and I had the opportunity to spend the night aboard the Summerwind as well and the accommodations below in the Master Berth were splendid. We slept peacefully through the night and awakened to a memorable sunrise on the water.
We plan on sailing again aboard the Summerwind and recommend this vessel and her captain to all who wish to embark on a joyful sailing adventure!

Thank you for your kind review. As they say, you were able to experience the full Monty aboard Summerwind. Not everyone has the time to sail, with her on the ocean, stop for dinner at a restaurant along the way, and get to spend a peaceful night aboard as well. Even though I’ve been doing this a long time, I never fail to marvel at this big 30,000 pound yacht being pushed along the ocean effortlessly by her sails and hull design. I sleep very well aboard a yacht too, and I’m glad you guys had a wonderful experience. I hope you’ll join us again soon aboard Summerwind.

This past summer my husband and I had an awesome time on Summerwind. The weather was warm so it was a great time sailing to downtown St Augustine and simply grabbing a mooring ball eating a yummy lunch with our family and diving off the back for a refreshing dip. The following day we took the boat several miles out in the ocean with all the sails up, music on in the cabin; a complete escape from work etc. At day’s end we sailed right up to Caps On The Water restaurant for my birthday where we enjoyed a seafood dinner and drinks. We can’t wait to plan another visit aboard Summerwind, It was a complete vacation over only a single weekend. Many thanks.

Ellen, we loved having you aboard Summerwind and look forward to your family joining us again. It’s always special to pull up our 50 foot yacht in front of caps on the water and tie up where you can see the yacht from the table during dinner. Getting her out on the ocean with all her sails flying in the wind spirited is hard to beat. I’m glad you and your family enjoyed her as much as we do. Please come again when you are back in historic Saint Augustine.

If you are looking at sailing charters leaving from St. Thomas- don't look anywhere else!! The day with Captain Marty and the Summerwind Adventures crew were the highlight of our entire vacation. They are very knowledgeable, take safety precautions, and go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a blast.
We went out for an entire afternoon and sailed to several different beaches at St. John. The sailboat is beautiful and very comfortable- our favorite part was the beanbag chairs on the bow of the boat. We snorkeled and saw lots of fish and sea turtles. We will definitely be back to take another trip with Summerwind Adventures!!

My family and I have sailed many times over the last ten years with Marty and his crews including wonderful afternoons off the coast of St. Augustine. We have had many fabulous overnight trips to places like Fernandina Beach and Cumberland Island. Summerwind is a beautiful Yacht and she sails like a dream. Some our family’s greatest moments have been sailing on Summerwind with the sails up on a beautiful day with gentle breezes moving along the ocean effortlessly. We strive to create lifelong memories with our family by having experiences together and a day on Summerwind is an unforgettable experience. We give Summerwind and the amazing crew 5 stars and can’t wait for our next sailing Adventure.

Thank you for your repeated adventures of bored Summerwind. Our Cumberland Island adventures is one of my favorites too. There’s something about sailing on the ocean overnight and being able to visit Cumberland Island without 200 other ferry passengers on our private yacht is all the more special. This year we have made many improvements aboard, and I think he would appreciate them. Thank you again for taking the time to leave. Such a nice review.

It’s hard to put into words what a truly wonderful experience we had. Marty and Chris are more than capable as captain and crew, great sail, great stops, and their skills as hosts are above and beyond anything we could have expected. Marty is incredible to listen to and learn from and Chris is an amazing chef! They are a great team. 1 day in and we felt like we were sailing with lifelong friends and we plan to stay in touch. My wife was in tears at the goodbye. You will not be disappointed

My best friend and I enjoyed the most wonderful sailing experiences with Captain Martin this winter.
We sailed the Atlantic twice during our visit to St. Augustine. We enjoyed the first day, which produced a gentle breeze. The second sail was the most fun with strong winds and wavy seas. We also had the opportunity to see beautiful downtown St Augustine anchored to Captain Martin’s mooring ball beside the lovely Bridge of Lions.
I'm planning to sail with Summerwind Adventures again during the Festival of Lights in December 2023.
This was an experience of a lifetime! We learned so much about the yacht and it's workings. An excellent trip!

We went sailing on Summerwind last week and had a fabulous time! Captain Marty was knowledgable and got the most from the wind to provide a speedy yet smooth sail. After a few hours on the ocean, we tied up to a mooring in the river for a tasty lunch on board. The picturesque view of the Great Cross at Our Lady of La Leche only added to the great experience. We had the day of our lives and look forward to sailing with Marty again!

Trailblazer, Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience aboard Summerwind. The experience that you described is exactly what we try to achieve with each sailing adventure. A little spirited time on the ocean, followed by a peaceful meal, while securely moored along beautiful downtown Saint Augustine is the full experience. The next thing to try is adding a peaceful night while mooring aboard with her gentle motion. The contrast between action on the ocean and peacefully swinging on a mooring is the one-two punch I think that makes people come back to be with us again. Thanks for sharing your time aboard with us and please consider us again in your future plans.

Amazing and friendly crew who went above and beyond with everything. Went on a snorkeling tour and they even spent extra time. Very communicative and trip was great, highly recommend if wanting to go on a boat in USVI

Captain Marty and First-Mate Christopher were gracious, kind and threw out the red carpet (food, drinks, a raft pool!) for our family of 4 adults and 4 kids ages 3-9. The highlight of vacation week was Summerwinds! The kids got over their hesitance of boating and the water wearing life jackets and steering. We cannot wait to go sail again in 2024!

Kay, thank you for joining us aboard Summerwind. It was easy for KRIS and I to be excited having your beautiful family aboard. When my kids were little I was always thinking about their safety first. We have so many little lifejackets that we can usually find the perfect fit for any size guests. It’s as much as a treat for us as it is our guests because we really enjoy what we do. Sharing the ocean with families is a special way to spend your day. Thanks for joining us aboard and we hope to see you again.

If you do one thing on your trip make it this charter! Everything was above and beyond and we had an amazing time. Marty & Chris are amazing, not only with sailing, but as company.
My kids (ages 3 -9) had such a wonderful time and didn't want it to end. This trip was definitely a core memory in the making for them. Everything was so safe and I was never once worried about them on the boat. They loved being able to swim right off the boat, and the pool that was provided to keep the kids inside of, out in the middle of the water is an amazing thing! Gives parents the security of safety and kids the freedom and the feeling of swimming out in the open water. Life jackets were provided and all sizes were available.
You will not regret taking this trip. It's truly one of the most amazing things we've been able to do. everything was clean, Marty and Chris were so kind, and it was a trip of a lifetime. We definitely want to do it again next time we are in the area. It's a must take trip. You will not regret it.

Thank you for your awesome review. Having your family a board with special for us too. We do this because we actually love Sailing and being on the ocean., When we have a little guys aboard with their sense of wonder and amazement, warms our hearts. We hope they will talk about this adventure when they’re older and remember splashing in the ocean behind her beautiful yacht and taking the helm like a big truck driver on the ocean.
