    Great time waiting for flight
Great bay across from university of virgin islands and a great place to hang out while waiting for flight. We rented a jeep from discount rental which is very close. We saw lots of turtles while snorkeling. Lots of shade to camp out under the trees.

Watch the planes land and tan
This is public beach frequented by locals near the airport and on the university campus. It was sparsely populated on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon. Grassy areas, white sand, shady trees and clear blue water. A beach chair or hammock would have been ideal but we settled for towels. Parking is free and on the street. There were 2 food trucks selling water, beer chips and sodas. One had local cuisine - Johnny cakes and pates, as well as burgers and hotdogs. We had a beef Pate and it was delicious! The prices were very reasonable.

    Relaxation and turtles!
Laid back beach with a mix of tourists, locals, and college kids. Family friendly! We saw six sea turtles- 4 grazing sea grass at once! Planes landing and taking off were cool to watch and you couldn’t really hear them over the surf so it didn’t harsh the ambiance. Yummy food trucks as well.

    Pleasant beach near the airport
We had a few hours prior to leaving St Thomas and decided to try Brewer's Bay. Very convenient, clean, soft sand, not crowded and decent areas of foliage to escape the sun when needed. Water was beautiful and if you enjoy a plane landing/taking off every so often, it's a fun spot for kids. Not complaining at all about the planes, just understand there is some activity but minimal. No amenities so bring your own stuff!

    Swim with turtles!!!
My favorite beach on island! Crystal clear, calm water. Changing rooms. Can watch the sunset over the Caribbean. Minimal to no seaweed. Plenty of sea turtles and lots of fish. Great snorkeling. You can also watch the planes come and go as its located next to the runway.

People rave about Magen's Bay, and it's nice, no doubt. People recommend Coki beach, too. And we visited as well.
For my money, Brewers Bay Beach was our favorite. It's calm, warm waters, beautiful, clean sand, snorkeling for turtles and manta rays, facilities and easy parking and access made Brewers the only beach we visited more than once.

Beach had weeds, rocks. However there was trees in the back that you could sit under. This beach does not compare to Megan's bay. A lot of loud music, charcoal grilling, large family gatherings, several groups smoking weed.

Someone recommended trying Brewer's Bay beach to see turtles and some rays. It is fairly shallow drop off and, in a noonish visit, we did follow one turtle lunching away and then tried to keep up with a ray that had another fish hitching a ride. Interesting; a bit out of the way. But they do have a change area (and bathrooms) that makes it a bit more accessible than some others. Would have liked a greater variety of fishes (perhaps like that seen at Secret Harbour on the East End).

This is one of the closest beaches to downtown Charlotte Amalie. On a Saturday afternoon, it appeared most of the town was here! Cars were parked along both sides of Route 30 as we drove past on our way to Mermaids Chair. It was still crowded on our return, so we didn’t stop. However, I got a peek of Brewers calm , protected waters and long sandy beach as our plane headed down the runway for takeoff (hint: sit on plane’s left side). There are prettier beaches on the island, but this might be a convenient alternative depending on your schedule and hotel location. And if you don’t spot a turtle, you are sure to see a plane or two. And yes, the airport runway extends into the water!

I bought the wife a very nice mask and snorkel so she could try it. She did great once she got comfortable breathing. She held my hand and I pulled her along with me. We saw many turtles and I saw a big ray.

She also did some searching for sea glass. If you want to find some this is the beach for it.

Make sure you buy a beverage from the wonderful older lady in the grey food truck. She is a real sweetie.

Chose this beach because I wasn't allowed to snorkel due to ear problems.
Took a taxi from the cruise port, $16 each, roundtrip. Nice sand. Lots of beach almonds for shade. Clean pleasant water. Not empty on a Monday--mostly apparently US tourists. Not crowded. Saw a sea turtle swimming in the AM.
Snorkeling OW is not much.

If you are wanting to just relax for the day...this is the beach! Beautiful, quiet, nice to see the planes fly in and out from time to time, close to the university, streetside parking but no fee. No food so bring snacks, dont litter and there are facitilies also.

We love this beach. It's definitely a beach the locals hang out and bring their own picnics because you won't find chair rental here or any vendors. However, there is a food truck on the street that sells amazing Pates and has ice cold drinks. They were yummy and a pretty good price!

This beach is very long and plenty of room to spread out. Make sure to bring towels or beach chairs to use. There's plenty of shade all along the beach so no need for an umbrella. The water is nice and calm here as well, so great for families with small children. If you like to look for sea glass, this is a great place to go as well and we found quite a bit here.

The snorkeling, we always find a lot of turtles here and this beach is known for the turtle sightings and it has never disappointed. I managed to see quite a few turtles, ballyhoo, angelfish, squirrel fish, lizard fish and tons of small groups of fish.

This place does have public restrooms and showers to use as well. Parking is on the street and it's located right by the school. If you're looking for a relaxing quiet day or turtle hunting...this is your place.

Beautiful beach. No rocks or seaweed and water was very clear. Went early in the morning- hardly anyone there. Heard this was the place to snorkel with sea turtles in St Thomas. It didn’t disappoint. Saw a few turtles not too far from the shore. Really cool. Also has some pretty unique shells. Definitely recommend.
