There is a fun story of Sir Francis Drake sitting on his bench (the Seat) and watching ships. As they approached, he would signal his pirate ships to sail out of a hidden cove and plunder their booty.

On the way back to our condo neat Cowpet Bay for Hull Bay beach, happened across the viewpoint at Drakes Seat. What a wonderful view of Magens Bay beach and beyond. Definitely worth the stop if you are passing by.

Awesome view of Magens Bay. It's a better view and easier to get to than Mountain Top. Would highly recommend.

We found the overlook at Magens bay and could not take enough photos. Directly across we stumbled on a bench (Drake's Seat) the point where Sir Fancis Drake explored the island. If you love inspiration for painting or photos this is the spot to search out.

Quick stop for some pictures and fresh local coconut water. Local vendor selling coconuts for $4. Hacks off the top in front of you and even offers to add some of the good stuff.

One of St. Thomas best view points. Panoramic pictures from this sight are amazing. You can see how Magen's Bay is actually shaped and you have an amazing view of other U.S. and B.V.I.

Super easy to find, and YES there is a seat there. Its an overlook that looks out onto the North side of St. Thomas into the Atlantic. You can see Jost Van Dyke, Tortola and of course the stunning Magens Bay. A must stop place while on the island.

Don't blink while you are driving by or you will miss it. It's literally a bench on the side of the curvy road. The view below of Magens Bay is definitely worth the stop. Get the camera out and take some pics. Then hit the beach!

We always take our guests when we visit St. Thomas to see Drake's Seat. The views are outstanding though lots of tour buses come here, so visit when the ships are not in port. If you are into geocaching, then there is one hidden here behind Drake's Seat so stop and find it.
