Scenic view of the beaches - take a moment to stop and sit for a while. Imagine yourself looking for pirate ships in days of yore.

This is a must stop. It is right on the side of the road, doesn't cost anything, and the views are spectacular. Quick and easy stop. This day we did a stop at Lindquist Beach, Coki Beach, Meghan's Bay Beach, Drake's Seat and up to Mountaintop, before going on a catamaran ride to St. John's with Cruzbay. Made for an... More

If you don't have time or need to go all the way up to Mountain Top, Drake's Seat is a great substitute or addition to your trip! Plenty of parking, but nothing is labeled and there are no signs indicating "Drake's Seat", so you'll need to either find it on a taxi trip or use a map to know you're... More

If spectacular views and photo opportunities are what you're looking for then you want to put this stop on your itinerary. Great view overlooking Magen's Bay and on clear days you can see the British Virgin Islands. Be careful crossing the street to sit on "Drake's Seat" aka the green bench as this is right in the crest of the... More

So who is Drake and why do we care so much about his seat that this is a typical stop on all island tours of St. Thomas? Well many locals say this is the look out that Sir Francis Drake used to spy on enemy Spanish ships in the 1600's. Others say he never set foot on St. Thomas, and... More

If you aren't careful you will drive right by. It's just a pull off area on the side of the road. It's a great view though.

If you've got a rental car or can find one of the many tour guides, this is worth a quick stop for a few photos. The view of Magen's Bay from Drake's Seat is awesome. We also went up to Mountain Top and agreed that we preferred this view over that one.

Postcard view of what I call the back side of the island. Make sure you research the background history of Drake's seat to fully appreciate the purpose of this historical spot! The history behind this island adds more beautify than one could ever imagine.

If you are going to Megans Bay you might as well visit Drakes seat, its located just up the street from where you turn to start heading down into Meagans Bay and is an easy off the road stop. Its a beautiful view of Megans Bay that you should check out.
