Fresh veggies at great prices. Owners are genuine down to earth people who care about the environment. You can also get fresh eggs and on certain days you can get fresh caught fish brought in by fisherman Ryan. You need to get there early to get a spot in line, when they open the gate the daily harvest goes quick.

On Wednesday afternoons and on Saturdays ARTfarm is open for a farmer's market. Merchandise is seasonal but the prices are reasonable. Sometimes there is local goat cheese. The papaya I got was the sweetest I have had in a long time. There is a small gallery of local art for sale. It looks a little out of the way on the map, but the road is good and nothing is really that far in St. zCroix.

They had like a few tiny vegetables and fruits. Oh and like 2 pieces of art. Ridiculous. Don't spend any money on the frozen desserts they were also lousy. And try to get a spoon... they just about expect you to take out a mortgage on it.

Hey str8 up Dave, Thanks for being straight up with us. There are times of the year when we don’t have as much produce, but January is usually a bumper production month. Looking back at our blog, we had lots of tomatoes and other items in January 2015, but it was an incredibly busy few weeks for us customer-wise. It's possible that you arrived to the stand near the end of our open hours on a particularly busy day. Sometimes we do sell out completely of many things, and very occasionally in the first hour. We’re really sorry if this happened to you. It’s definitely a bummer to go out of your way while on vacation and feel that you wasted your time. We encourage customers to call ahead if they're looking for something specific, and we'll let you know if we've run out and save you the trip. Cold comfort for you this time...sorry. We have vacation rentals, and our own home on the property where dozens of paintings created by the owners of ARTfarm and other local Crucian artists are framed on the walls. If we had known your interest in viewing some artwork, we might have been able to show you around to some of those rentals if they weren’t occupied. We also have a collection of Taste Of St. Croix posters featuring original paintings by farmer Luca Gasperi in the rental office for sale. Perhaps our ARTbarn mini gallery was between exhibits. We’ll try to do better at keeping some work on the walls out there. Hope to catch you next time. We’re sorry you didn’t care for I-Sha’s vegan coconut ice cream. Any time a customer is truly unhappy with a purchase, we encourage them to bring it back and get a refund or replacement. Feel-I and Shalima (I-Sha) handcraft their ice cream by making their own coconut cream from fresh coconuts, adding brown sugar and local fruits - sometimes popular ones like mango and passionfruit, other times more esoteric ones like jojo plum, mesple, baobab or seagrape. Local coconut is generally not as consistently sweet as coconut from a can or bottled coconut water, and our local fruits are also often for the adventurous. So flavor can vary from batch to batch. Again, we appreciate customer feedback and when a particular flavor doesn't sell we like to let our vendors know as well. (Stinkin’ Toe Fruit flavor is definitely a love-or-hate flavor - do you remember which one you tried?) Your comment on the spoon was admittedly hilarious. We used to buy plastic spoons for the ice creams, and found that most customers requesting a spoon would eat their ice cream right at the farmstand in our comfy chairs, and then just tossed the spoons on the ground after use. It was not environmentally friendly, and it attracted stinging ants. So we bought metal spoons, and we just wash and sanitize them after every farmstand. There is never a charge for the use of our spoons, and occasionally they go on 'walkabout', but perhaps there was some poor communication on our part or a new volunteer helping out at the stand who over-defended the return of the metal spoon. Our apologies! Free complimentary spoon for you if you come back! Ask for Christina. We sure hope you'll give us another chance, or that you've found another local farmstand that suits you to a tee! Again, appreciate the feedback.

ARTfarm is a treasure on St. Croix and everything they grow is organic and really delicious! We rented a house and prepared most of our meals at home, so finding things like heirloom tomatoes, organic basil, and beautiful lettuces made it feel like we were right back in the middle of summer. Oh, and by the way, the people there at the farm are warm and friendly and very accommodating!!!

I am on island 3x a year and go to get Lucca's produce the twice a week they are open-- wonderful lettuces, tomatoes, papaya, honey, wonderful everything! He even took some scissors and picked his last remaining mint leaves for my husband's mojitos when he heard how desperate he was for one and the "island" was out of mint. Ha! Outstanding produce-- delightful staff--wish they were in my home town in VA.

Every time we visit STX I have to stop by on Wednesday to get my homegrown tomatoes! Spectacular. They are only open on Wednesdays from 3-6 but you better come early because they sell out of most produce by 4:30. Great stuff!!

This family owned farm suffered greatly from the drought but they are still on their feet and will re-open.

David, thanks for your review. It means a lot to us that you and others in our community care about small farms. The drought and brushfires of 2015 were brutal and taxing for us and many other farmers in the territory, but we have been blessed with sweet rains in February and March of 2016, and the tomatoes and lettuce are booming now! Hope to see you back here soon!

Great local produce- a must find for those foodies traveling to St. Croix. The salad greens and tomatoes are excellent, local fruits when available. Other local products- coconut milk icecream, local mead, and excellent resource for those dedicated to quality food.
