Thank you for an amazing experience! We booked the tour as part of my daughter’s birthday celebration and from the moment we arrived to the facility, we were welcomed by Chris like if we knew him for a while! Love the place, mosquitos and all! The trivia game was amazing! it’s refreshing to see they are not just giving you the tour but it shows their passion and love for their trade and land. Both Chris and Travis were so much fun, super down to earth and extremely knowledgeable. I’m partially deaf and they were very accommodating. We got the see-through kayaks and I would not have it any other way, it’s amazing to paddle and see the water light up under you! Their merch is pretty neat as well. Thank you guys for the memories and will definitely book again for our next trip!

The guides were the best, ever! SUPERB! Everyone loved the bioluminescence, but it’s the guides that stole the show. These guys were incredible. We had a group of 20, ages very young, all the way up to 65. There was some hesitancy, right up until we got out of our cars. Ty and Travis went to work. They greeted us enthusiastically. They immediately engaged the children (all 10 of em), and the adults too (the other 10). We were having fun before we even gathered to listen up. The kayaks were lined up, half in and half out of the water, on a super calm beach. They were very clean, spotless, looked brand new.

We stepped in and headed out. A short, beautiful, very calm water paddle, at sunset. Loved it.

The guys coached us up, told us stories, guided us to the bay, all while keeping everyone, and especially those kiddos safe and engaged. Truly amazing.

I’m old, have taken many, many tours, all over the world, and BushTribe, without question, was the best I’ve ever seen; EVER.

Tip well and then buy their shirts. They’re nice shirts.

We did the bioluminescence bay clear kayaks (which I recommend all the way) and it was terrific! Everything was very professional and clean. Starts off with some super fun trivia then heading out into the bay. Very informative on where to sit, and plenty of guides out to make sure you don’t get split up. The overall length of the tour was perfect. Didn’t feel like we were rushed and felt like we had the right amount of exploration. The clear kayaks are 1,000% worth it. As you are in the bay and paddling it almost looks like shooting starts as the kayak goes through the water. That’s the only way in my opinion to get the best experience. 10/10 would recommend bush tribe to anyone interested.

My wife and I took a guided kayak tour of the Bio Bay (Matt was our guide) and the whole experience was phenomenal. The equipment was great, Matt was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful, and the bay itself did not disappoint. There are multiple tour operators that make this trip but we’d highly recommend Bush Tribe!

This was such a magical experience. It was like pixie dust and glowing lights every time we put our paddles in the water. Not to mention all the stars you can see! Our guide Chris was really knowledgeable about the area, the history, the ecology, etc. and a super nice guy. I'm really happy I booked with this crew because it was a smaller tour than the other groups who came into the bay like a kayak army. I feel like we got more out of it with BushTribe. Plus, when will you ever get to kayak again at night?!

Our family learned a ton about not only what is happening in the Salt River Bay, but also a ton about St Croix history. On top of that, we had a great night for luminescence.

We were out before the moon-rise, and the moon had just past full moon phase. Apparently this is a great time to see this phenomenon.

Although we missed glow worms, the bioluminescence was spectacular and included glowing jelly fish and water illuminated by jumping fish.

We rented the see-through kayak. Traveling over the water in these vessels looked like floating over hundreds of shooting stars. Every stroke of the paddle and splash of water with out hands stirred incredible lights. Again, it sounds like we were there at a great time, but it was great.

Our lead guide even went out of his way to find a Caribbean lobster in the shallows and pull it out of the water by hand to show our kids what it looked like. Just like pullin' crawdad's out of the creek back home. It was really impressive.

Lastly, they offered a bit of a game to visitors: Whoever answers the most questions/trivia would get a prize at the end of the trip. My wife won and received a piece of chaney, which we asked Chaney Chicks to convert to jewelry.

All in all, bioluminescence is rare. Although the 2 hour kayak trip is a bit draining (especially if there is wind), if conditions are right, you can see it here with a very reliable and enjoyable crew.

Went on a tour where the guide openly lied to us about the original name of the island. Completely erasing the millennium that people had inhabited and name the island by saying " the first name of St. Croix was Santa Cruz". Next, your "guide" Ignored the fact that we were passing by right where the Native Ayayan drove off Columbus off with arrows. When confronted about the fact that they were seemingly purposefully ignoring very important info. They seemed completely fine with the info they had presented and seemed happy to keep taking people's money while giving them false info. Why, because none of the Bush Tribe is from St. Croix so they have no wish to protect the cultural heritage. it

Our tour guide, Travis, was knowledgeable and fun. There were young kids in our group so he toned down his spiel to their understanding level. He was also nice to a pair of older ladies in our group who did not kayak well, which was super-nice!! We had a fun time!

I love St. Croix and we are in the water 80% of the time during our visits, but the bioluminescence kayaking trip with Bush Tribe is my very favorite thing. Like magic. Great guides with so much information and senses of humor. See through kayaks that light up through the water in magic bubbles of sparkle like the stars in the sky. Highly recommend. Bioluminescent bay was amazing. Teens and adults agreed, one of the best things we did in St. Croix. Guides were wonderful, bioluminescence was beautiful. We picked the see through kayaks and they were worth it - there was a light show under the kayak. Also saw jelly fish and glow worms.
