About
Hang Glide St Croix combines water sports, air sports, and Parasailing all in one. You and your instructor launch from a specially designed boat and climb to over 1,000 feet. The instructor releases the towline and you can learn to fly while gliding down for a landing on the water in the glider equipped with floats. No previous experience necessary. Flight times vary with wind and water conditions. We can take up to 6 passengers on the boat. We are weather dependent so please check with us for weather conditions the afternoon prior and on the day you are scheduled to fly. Our pick up location is near Club Commanche, Shupe's Bar and Grill on the boardwalk. Flight times are generally 10am -12noon -2pm but we can arrange flights to fit in with your other activities. I am from St.Croix, but haven't been home in years. So imagine my surprise while walking on the Christiansted boardwalk when I saw the sign "Flystcroix" and a gentleman holding a very large wing of a glider as it swayed in the wind while being anchored to a speed boat. They told me I could book online at info@flystcroix.com.
I booked online and I am glad I did.
The crew Rich, David, Jim, and Mike were friendly, respectful, and most importantly professional. I am not going to lie, it will cost you a bit of money, but having a full crew that puts safety first is worth the price.
I loved it! My mother who is turning 70 in a few weeks also enjoyed the experience. I liked that they talked us through the process, were transparent with every step of the experience, and made sure that we really wanted to soar above the waters. There is nothing worse than a selfish crew who overlooks their customers for monetary gain. You won't find this with the crew of flystcroix. They are not pushy and did not try to bamboozle me into purchasing anything. I liked that. I purchased what I wanted without feeling pressured. The most important part was the flying! Rich was my pilot and he was fantastic! Even if you are scared, you will soon be put at ease by his calm, self-assured, and friendly manner. He channeled any apprehension I may have had into positive, calming energy and I appreciated him. From the 3 guys working together to make sure everything was safe for take off until I soared above my beautiful island, It was perfect. The rainbow gently merging with the water on my left just added to the perfection of this experience. I would do this again in a heartbeat. I also decided to purchase the videos. Though I haven't yet viewed them, I know they will be great. It is important to know when booking online that you can't select to purchase the 2 video views (it only allows you to purchase one). However, you can easily get the second angle for a little more. I think it is worth it to get the different angles since I had already made the decision to go up.
If you want to try something new, even if you have lived on the island all your life, you will truly enjoy seeing our beautiful St.Croix from another point of view.

We had a wonderful time hang gliding with the people from Hang Glide St. Croix! Even though our conditions weren't great, the crew did all they could to make sure we had a wonderful experience. The customer service levels are unparalleled. The quick take off of the boat into the air is so exhilarating and the sights of the island from the sky are incredible. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a unique experience in St. Croix.

This is an experience of a lifetime! My pilot, Jim, and I started out tethered to a boat and lifted up into the sky similar to parasailing. Then we disconnected from the boat at about 2000 feet and glided over the Caribbean, seeing coral reefs, sting rays, hotels, boats...Amazing!!! Jim and his team are experienced and professional. Truly incredible.

Unfortunately we were unable to glide the day our cruise ship arrived due to unforeseen circumstances. The kids were disappointed but our deposit was refunded promptly. We hope to have another opportunity to glide there in the future.
Thank you

This was my first time ever trying out Hang gliding ever and I was very blessed to get to do it with my two sisters and mom and Michael Hartlage! But WOW, what an amazing, once in a life time experience it was.... the guys who took us were all AWESOME!!! Rich who flies with you is the man and so is the rest of the crew. I never once felt scared! And to see the views from 1,000 feet high in the air overlooking the beautiful Carribiean Seas was just breathtaking! I even saw sea turtles while flying! Definitely a MUST Do if you visit St Croix! Can't wait to do it again next year!!!! Thanks again to everyone who made the experience so wonderful!

Hang gliding with David, Rich, Mike and Jim was the highlight of our trip to STX this year.
It was truly unique taking off and then landing on the water - sort of like parasailing, but so much better once you were soaring free. The views are fantastic, the crew was knowledgeable, safety conscious and personable. I only wish I could have stayed up there longer. I can't wait to go again next year.

Hang gliding with this crew was my husband's favorite part of our trip. It was a truly unique experience that we have never seen available anywhere else. Everyone was very kind, and took safety very seriously!

This was the #1 thing I wanted to do while on St. Croix. I went with my sister-in-law and her sister.
I went first and got breathtaking views of the island. The guides were very knowledgeable about hang gliding and about the island and answered all the questions we asked. When my sister-in-law went second, there was a minor problem (they said it was common - some safety feature that went off without being needed, I think) so they had to bring her down quickly. Because her flight was cut short, they took her back up, and still managed to fit all three of us in. In all it took maybe two hours. We paid for a couple GoPro views to capture our experience.

An excellent trip for much of the bridal party the day after the wedding! It was so good more of our family came the following day to fly and see the turtles from the air! None of the five of us who flew had anything remotely bad to say!

The most amazing must do flying experience in all of the Virgin Islands. Flying high above 2,000 feet in St.Croix with David, Jim and Mike. Breathtaking views of the ocean, island and numerous Sporting's of devil rays and sea turtles.....A must do experience for visitors and locals alike!!!! I AM SO GOING AGAIN!

I was interested in parasailing not Para gliding, do you offer double or single parasailing?
Written April 7, 2018
We are only set for hang gliding. It’s a different system. I don’t know of anyone on St Croix parasailing at the moment.

How long are you actually up in the air?
Written December 16, 2017
Depending on the days conditions and reservations anywhere from 10 minutes up. On average 12 to 15 minutes from launch to landing. Sometimes we fly in rising air that helps lengthen the flight.
