Sweet Bottom Dive Center offers World Class Diving on St. Croix. With our home base located at Cane Bay Beach and our second location at the Carambola Beach Resort; we have the perfect house reefs known as the Cane Bay Wall and Davis Bay Wall, only a couple yards away. We are known for our high quality customer service, high end rental equipment, and safety record. We offer guided shore diving and snorkeling along the wonderful island of St. Croix. We have been to the island to dive for 7 trips in the last 10 years. We had never used Sweet Bottom as we always gravitated to boat dives. With Covid we defiantly feel more comfortable diving on our own with shore dives. Laura the owner was hands on everyday and Sandy and Troy make sure that every need is taken care of. We have all our own gear and are Advanced Divers and have had guides on STX before so we did not need a guide on this trip but Troy was very helpful with entry points and underwater markers to look for to help us with our dive. The storm surge was causing 12-14ft waves on the North Shore and most boats were not even going out. We went to the Westend and dove the Pier for the first 5 days. It was peaceful and we saw turtles, octopus, seahorses, rays, peacock flounder, enormous crab.....the list goes on and on. Later in the week we enjoyed the dives on the North Shore with North Star being our favorite. The gear wash areas and storage are TOP NOTCH. There is a humidifier in the storage area and the gear is dry by morning! They also have high quality gear to rent. I watched them teaching Discover Scuba and their patience and attention to detail were just outstanding. They will soon have a second area re-opening at Carambola (it was destroyed during the hurricane) and this is just a phenomenal reef that is close to shore. If you like to do boat dives they can take care of booking them for you. Last we met many of the dive masters that are there to take you on your first shore dive or your 100th. I would highly recommend taking a guide if you have not dived at The North Shore or the Pier. They know the easy entry tips and where all the little creatures are hiding underwater. It just gives you piece of mind and makes for a relaxing dive. Plus the local knowledge on where to go for sunset and dinner is just a perk!

Mark and Laura are the consummate professionals. When I approached them about conducting a “first dive” after our wedding ceremony, not only were they game, but they took care of all the logistics that allowed us to dive with 20+ people. It was one of the most unique and fun experiences I have ever had! Our guests had a great time and the instructors and dive master (Jackie, Troy, Scott, Russ, Jeff, Kyle, and Claire) were very attentive ensuring a safe but fun dive. Mark and Laura, we cannot thank you enough for the amazing experience!!!

What can we say??? The owners, Mark and Laura, were extremely professional and helpful with any questions or concerns we had. The dive center was clean, organized and well stocked. There were clean bathrooms, showers, and rinse tanks that were NEVER dirty. Small details like this make all the difference in the world! Mark would come out daily before our dives and look over everyone’s equipment and offer suggestions or point out things that could be problematic. We have never experienced such attention to detail when diving. My husband had a new BCD that didn’t feel right after his first few dives. He asked Mark to take a look at it and Mark spend a solid 15-20 minutes going over everything, identifying the problem, and fixing it. Where else do you get such personalized attention from the owner??? Mark and Laura run a first-rate dive center and we recommend them to anyone diving in STX. We arrived as strangers but felt like family after our week of diving with Sweet Bottom. We cannot wait to go back and dive with them again soon!

My wife and I own a villa very close to Cane Bay on St. Croix and when we are not here we have vacation renters who many times are looking for scuba and snorkeling activities. We could not be more thrilled and happy about the service that the staff of Sweet Bottom provide to our guests. They use the cleanest, safest and most well maintained rental equipment that we have ever see in a dive resort and their staff go the extra mile to provide a concierge type serve to divers. As a dive instructor, the number one thing I am always most aware of is safety, and on a guided dive or while renting equipment, taking a continuing education dive course, or if you just want to become a certified diver, you will not find a better group of people to work with, and a better shop to care for your needs. Trust me, you will not be sorry you visit Mark and Laira nd Sweet Bottom Dive Center!

First visit to St Croix and spent some time touring the island. Stopped in the dive shop and met the owner Laura. They have a great shop right at the famous Cane Bay wall. Very friendly people and well stocked shop, lots of the latest from Aqualung. Scheduled shore dive on the wall for the next morning.
Russ took me diving and we had an excellent dive to 85ft, the visibility was unfortunately low but the coral was beautiful. Wasn't much reason to go deeper that day due to vis but it is easy to imagine the scenery.
Met with Mark (other owner and husband of Laura) after the dive, the shop was completing a PADI instructors examination, getting 6 new dive professionals started on their new career. Well done everyone.
The shop trains divers at all levels. Beginners, those want to advance, lots of specialties like "deep diving" or "shore diving". If you want to become a dive professional they can do that too!
Mark and Laura have a great shop with fun and professional staff. If you dive multiple days with them they have a place to rinse your gear and stow it for the next day's dive.
Do yourself a favor and book a dive with Sweet Bottom Dive Center soon.

Thank you so much for this nice review Don. It was a pleasure to meet you and your wife while you visited our dive center. Sharing stories from our sister islands is always a treat for me. Unfortunately Mother Nature was not showing here best side while you dove Cane Bay, but I'm glad you had a good dive with Russ nonetheless. He is an awesome tour guide of our home site of Cane Bay, and knows all the great spots to see. Please come back across the "pond" and see us again!

I was delighted to complete my Advanced Open Water Certification dives at Sweet Bottom at the end of January :-) After completing my Open Water outside of Toronto last September, diving in St Croix was paradise!
I had 5 fab dives over the course of 2 days with terrific instructor, Troy Anning. As we descended for the first of the 5 dives, the deep dive, 2 gorgeous spotted eagle rays swam by. I knew all was right with the world! The coral wall was stunning, lots of different fish (we counted 29 species on our Fish ID dive!), turtles, spiny lobsters, and a few sharks. The navigation dive was fun thanks to Troy's simplified approach to using the compass. And I felt better about my buoyancy after doing the peak performance dive, with Troy adjusting my weight locations to allow me to experience the differences. The night dive was fine, though I'll likely stick to daytime diving.
Troy was easy going and very knowledgeable/thorough, a great instructor and personality match for me. I can't recommend him enough. I found out about this terrific shop through the Girls that Scuba group on FB and a note from Jackie Weichman, another SBDC instructor. I'm really glad I called and set up the AOW certification. I'd absolutely dive with them again!

My wife & I dove with Sweet Bottom over Valentine’s Week and I can best describe our beach and pier diving trips as a valet diving experience. Scout Buchan, our divemaster guide, gets a big shout out for his professionalism, affable personality,
and unsurpassed personal service. The shop staff, Laura, Sandy, and Troy all helped us tremendously from equipment replacement selections to photographic upgrades. This is a professional full service class act and we are already preparing for our return visit with them!

We rented scuba equipment at their Cane Bay location so we could make shore dives off the north shore. Service was reasonably priced and efficient, and the owners and employees were always willing to take the time to talk to us about the diving conditions. They also make it easy to store your valuables, so you don't have to worry about security. We used them for North Star, Cane Bay, and Davis Bay dive sites.

Just got my Open water dive certification with Sweet Bottom Dive and was amazed by my Instructor Jackie and Dive Master Claire. They had to handle three crazy chicks from Chicago. I was very nervous, and I never felt more comfortable! Kudos and thank you ladies!

This is the place you are looking for. Amazing owners, amazing staff (shout out to Claire!!), amazing dives. Multiple turtle in one dive, one decided it wanted to be friends and stayed with us for a good long while. Since they can shore dive, you go out in super small groups. This is incredible because you get to dive based on air rather than a back on boat time. I logged some of my longest dives with them. I think one was 76 minutes. This made me super happy because I usually come up with half a tank of air after a typical boat dive. Seriously great shop will absolutely be diving with time if we ever return to St. Croix.

I dove with you last May and got in my 100th dive and My regs had a hole in one of the lines so you let me use your regs and I really liked them and wanted to know what kind they were I am thinking about replacing my primary reg with that type.
