This rocky promontory, the easternmost point in the United States, juts into the Caribbean Sea and features "The Castle," a huge mansion perched atop the cliffs and which resembles India's Taj Mahal and a Moorish mosque.

Easy drive 25-30 minutes east of Christiansted. There is a circle drive around the millennial monument (it’s a giant sundial) park where you can and walk around to enjoy panoramic ocean views. No facilities and not much else out there but still worth the trip!
Very interesting site to visit while in St. Croix. Has amazing views and was very surprised to learn that it is the "Easternmost point of the United States." This giant sundial is architecturally stunning!
This site is a cool little place for a quick visit. It’s been beat up a little by Maria but the views and the drive up are beautiful. We didn’t get up early enough to experience the sunrise from up there, but that probably would’ve...More
Poorly maintained monument. But exceptional views! Got a car?
Then stop, you won't regret it. This is not one of those "you've got to do it" things, but if you can, you should. If you don't, you won't die.

Probably a little tough return hike up the trail to the parking lot for the 18 month year old. Fun down hill. Round trip to Jack's bay is about 1.5 miles. Even though we are in our 70s this was an easy hike with wonderful views. Great beaches to walk on or swim. Take plenty of water or rum and food as there are no amenities! Just an awesome Mother Nature trail

I'll defer to the locals for accurate crime stats, but as a recent visitor, I'll do my best on the east end. The east side is beautiful and has some incredible views. It is much more quiet, and many areas would best be described as untouched. We rented a jeep and the drives through the east end were very relaxing. The main "action" for St. Croix will be more towards the cities of C-Sted and F-Sted. We stayed at the Buccaneer and the views of the water were pretty spectacular. Once you get past the Buccaneer heading eastward, it becomes more and more sparse. On the southern side of the eastern end of the island you can also find beautiful cliffs leading down to the water.
If you are looking for a quiet getaway, the east end is a good fit. Just be aware that you will need to drive into C-sted for most of the food and entertainment options (except for a few favorites like Duggan's, Ziggy's, and the casino).
