If you're adventuresome, rent a jeep and drive yourself to the pools. Would not recommend the drive if you have not ever been offroad. The pools are cool and can be a little dangerous depending on where the tide is. Check the tidal charts.

There are only 2 ways to visit the Tide Pools. Hike a couple hours or 4 wheel jeep. Take the crazy jeep ride! It's probably safer and lots of fun. The Tide Pools are also tricky to physically get into-we had to climb along the...More

A 60 or so minute hike from the resort takes you up a rather steep incline to the tidal pools. Try to arrive just before high tide for the best effect and water flow.

If you read the other reviews here, you'll get the point that its well worth the hike to the tide pools. That's absolutely true. However, what you won't read is that MOST people completely miss the trailhead (because its hard to see). The guard shack...More

We took the Tan Tan tour to get to the tide pools. This is not an easily accessible place without a tour guide. If you hike in, make sure you have plenty of water and are able bodied. I've had a knee replacement and would...More

When we came to St. Croix I had read about the tide pools and this was one of the main things I wanted to do while I was here. The hike was OK. It took us an hour each way and lots of uphill, not...More

Hiking to the pools is free, you just have to get to the Renaissance hotel in Carambola, where the trail starts. It's a two and a half mile hike through the rainforest (not too strenuous, but there is some that's uphill... More
