Discovered this gorgeous beach at the end of our stay and managed to go twice. This is what a Caribbean beach is all about! Since it was low season, we were able to use the chairs that are normally reserved for guests at the Carambola free of charge.

At most there are 15 people on this 200 yard beach. Lots to do, beach volleyball, snorkeling, very nice pool, hammocks, perfect for piece and paradise.

On our third try, we succeeded in having water tame enough to snorkel. Saw a stingray and other fish. Signs say to enter at the west end of the beach to avoid sea urchins in the coral.

Some years ago we discovered Davis Bay. We have become frequent visitors. West end north shore of St Croix is world class. I'm an open water distance swim/snorkel enthusiast. I go out for hours at a time. Mostly alone because dive shops don't cater to old men that like to push the edge. North shore has a strong westerly current... More

One side has a sandy beach from which you can play in the surf. Waves can be strong at times. Strong swimmers can snorkel. Opposite end of bay has tidal pools to explore. Wear water shoes. Rocks are sharp.

The day we went to Davis Bay, the beach at Marriott Carambola, we found it rough. It was windy and there were big waves. We were told that when the weather is good it is better. It is a small beach. It is near the rainforest, where they do guided hikes to the Tide Pools.

I love Davis Bay. 4 years in a row and I'll keep going back. It's beautiful, relaxing and one of my favorite places. Secluded and remote, it is hardly ever crowded, maybe a few extra people when a ship comes in, but most days feels like your own private island. The waves are a great size, never too big but...
