- jbs82259Radnor, Pennsylvania26 contributionsLots of Fun and certainly worth the visit! You go for the fun of it and it is fun. Loud fun music, plenty of options to eat and DRINK with a real Island vibe. Great drinks and plenty of eating options from the many booths. There are also some vendors selling local items as well as hats/T-shirts. Calling it an outdoor food festival might be more appropriate. I look forward to going again the next time we are back in TCI. TIPS: Very casual (shorts & T-shirts), bring cash (although most vendors took cards).Visited December 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten December 11, 2022
- PridesixColorado Springs, Colorado18 contributionsNice island nightRead about this weekly event before arrival. Several recommendations by locals after arrival. A short 15 minute walk from our lodging at Point Grace Resort. Several island vendors set up food booths with a full island menu at each as wall as drinks. Bandstand, recorded music, we didn't stay for the live music. 30+ island commercial vendor booths. Something worth doing if you are on Provo on a Thursday eveningVisited December 2022Written December 11, 2022
- lovesthesun-71,113 contributionsFun and delicious night! On a trip to Provo in November, we decided to try the local Thursday night fish fry. It was a quick walk from our hotel on Grace Bay, and although we only stayed for probably 1-1/2 hours, it was great fun. Live music on the stage, and lots of food trucks to choose from. It is definitely a challenge to find a table to sit and eat, but we finally did and the fish and fries we had, as well as the rum punch were superb and very good value. There are numerous local vendors as well selling their crafts. Definitely a fun evening. Recommend!Visited November 2022Written December 12, 2022
- mark hHillsdale, Michigan120 contributionsA fun timeI was not sure what to expect but was very happy I went. We had an easy walk to the event and I felt safe walking back in the dark. There were many food trucks and vendors with a lot of people and a fun vibe! The group I was with tried a variety of food from a variety of food trucks and it was all good. They do accept credit cards which was good because I didn't have much cash. The only complaint is that there was not enough tables and the music was so loud it was hard to have conversations.Visited December 2022Traveled with friendsWritten December 19, 2022
- KJKNYC212 contributionsIf you like a street fair and browsing to snack and shop, you’ll enjoy this.Fish Fry is a fun weekly event that is rough equivalent to a street fair in NYC. There are stands with vendors selling food, souvenirs and crafts. They had a good band playing which set the upbeat mood. We snacked and browsed. The food items are $5-$30 depending on what you choose. They have full bars, so drinks were flowing, but not in a crazy way. It was a short walk from The Palms hotel. We felt completely safe while walking and while there. It was a nice change up from the sit down dinners we had each night.Visited December 2022Traveled with familyWritten December 27, 2022
- You can call me BLos Angeles, California35 contributionsThe Fish Fry is a MustWe put our bags down and went straight to the Fish Fry. A lot of food vendors but we finally settled on one and my goodness. probably the cheapest meal I had the whole trip. $40 for a large lobster tail, a small square of baked mac and cheese, crab fried rice, a side of plantains and a ginger beer. I was starving and my little heart was happy. They had a lot of local merch, hand made items, glass and wood. There was a beer stand that seemed to be popular. There are wooden benches to sit, community style. Must have been a popular time because 5 people at our table had a birthday, me included. This area wasn't far at all from my hotel, but still paid to hitch a ride because i wasn't sure if i really wanted to walk.lol. I hope you enjoy the fish fry like i did. I got there around 5 pm-ish and I was able to beat the crowed. The lines get long quick for food and the bar stands. Get you a piña colada before you leave !Visited December 2022Written January 17, 2023
- bartpicNew Haven, Connecticut486 contributionsJust OK.This was a nice diversion but I could only give it 3 stars. Very, very crowded. A little dusty and parking is difficult (get there early).Long lines for food. Had to wait 35 minutes after we placed order and we got there early. The food was pretty good and priced appropriately. Full meals with two sides were $20-$25. Conch made many ways along with lobsters. There were a lot of vendor tents with some really nice crafts at good prices. Bring your own booze. Lots of picnic tables but not enough for the crowds. There was a stage with live music but they must have went on late because we left around 8PM. Kind of a party atmosphere if that's what your looking for, which on this island is rare. Have fun.Visited January 2023Written January 28, 2023
- Chris W5 contributionsFun Time in a Local SettingGreat experience away from restaurants and resorts. Food stations from many local establishments. Not exactly cheap but authentic. Got cold Conch salad made right in front of us and so delightful. Great DJ and singer keeping the mood festive. If you are there on a Thursday, it's a Cant Miss!Visited January 2023Written January 28, 2023
- CarynG6 contributionsBig Fun!Great vendors, great food! We had a driver drop us off and pick us up which I advise because parking seemed a bit crazy. My favorite aspect was the local vendors; great jewelry, souvenirs. The food was delicious and lines weren't horrible. Drinks seemed expensive at first but then you see you get a 12oz.+ sized cocktail! Music was loud but contributed to the fun atmosphere.Visited January 2023Written February 4, 2023
- Sara EBenson, Minnesota6 contributionsFun, but don't need to go againFirst time to Turks and had to check out the Fish Fry. We got there early for food. Crazy amount of people... it was fun to check out, but probably would not go back. They need more tables to eat, seems there is ample space to do so. We had to sit on a curb on the outside of the lot... fun experience though.Visited February 2023Written February 6, 2023

This event comes highly recommended by the locals. It does provide a nice look at the local culture but it is really just a flea market opportunity for local artists. There are some nice treasures for the decerning shopper if the downtown shops did not fulfill your gifting needs. The food tents offer questionable quality treats but the drinks are cheap in comparison to the formal bars. Not a must see.

Every Thursday there is this Fish Fry. It starts at 5:30 and ends at 9:30. It can be referenced as a very small Taste of Chicago. Different restaurants offer food and beverages and there are
numerous vendors selling their wares. It is supposed to be for the whole island, but there were many more tourists than locals there. Get there early - right when it opens - because the lines get very long. There is very little seating so if you can't find a place to sit, you are eating standing up or walking. It was a nice
experience, but once you have gone there, that is sufficient for me. We ate at Hole in the Wall. I had red snapper and peas and rice, and my husband had lobster tail. Both were good. There was entertainment and that was interesting. If you have an interest in local color, this gives you a small window into the culture of the island.

This was such a fun event.
TLDR: You have to go for the party atmosphere.
The best way to describe it is to say that it is a giant party for the entire island. The booze was flowing, and the food was aplenty. Personally, I didn't eat anything this night, but I did have drinks.
There is a fair amount of souvenir shops if you want to be extra touristy.
It was nice to see the tourism board there.
The live band was entertaining and kept the crowd engaged with follow me style dances. In the following days, I ran into many people that I had exchanges with at the Fish Fry. It does get rather dark here as there is minimal overhead lighting and parking can be a mild to moderate challenge. Parking is all on street and not particularly close to the venue. If you plan on driving, I must recommend a Designated driver so you can find your way back to your vehicle.
Having a background in Aviation, seeing the drone flying overhead for live streaming online was a little concerning. I hope the Tourism board took necessary safety precautions and is aware of the risks involved.
If I ever go back to Provo, I will go back to Fish Fry.

Thursday Fish fry is a fun festival in Turks that showcases some of the best Turks food offerings. There are souvenirs to buy, lots of drink options, music and live music. It was right by the beach so that was a nice bonus.
We went early, it starts at 5:30, we ate as soon as the booths opened so we had great selection and no lines and had a place to sit which later on was impossible to find.
The food was amazing, it was Lobster season so lucky us. theres drinks served in coconuts and pineapples. The vendors are fun and willing to dicker a bit but the prices at the festival are better that in the shops.
It was shoulder to shoulder by the time we left around 8:30.(goes until 9:30)
Reggie's drink bar was right at the front, he sells Kombucha too! He was fantastic. Made our drinks just as we asked.
Take repellent for bare legs. Mosquitoes/sand flies were also hungry.

This would have been great if we were wanting to spend a lot of time drinking and listening to loud, booming DJ music, but it was more like an outdoor festival. Lines to get food were 20+ deep and there was no room to sit. Food was excellent. We had conch salad and conch fritters. Prices were about what you'd pay anywhere else around the island and a cab was $8 per petson from the Grace Bay Beach area. You can't walk there. I'd guess it's about 4 miles ftom Grace Beach

On our latest trip a concierge convinced us to try this out. Not a big fan of fish, but surprisingly they had salads, chicken ka-bobs, plenty of fish and a few desert trucks. After spending upwards of $100 a dinner, it was nice to get a good meal for under $30 for two. Music was good, and plenty of local wares for sale at great prices.

My 2nd. visit to fish fry was just as fun as the first. It's a mix of locals and tourist and street festival. Local chef's prepare fresh, traditional island food at a great price. Alcohol is also sold at many booths as well as local arts and crafts. Music and dancing abound. Seating can be hard to come by, but get there by 6:00 and you have a fair shot at a table toward the beach.

Local crafts that you don't see in the shops. Obviously a great event here for tourists. If you want to eat here come at 6 p.m if you just want to listen to the music come at 8 pm. Found the jerk chicken quite bland most food here needs to be spiced up a bit. Bought a pint of local Soon Reach light beer for $10 with free glass you can keep. Worth going as not much evening entertainment here at this time of year.

Come early! There’s 3 tables to sit at and wow will this place get busy. It’s such a great event weekly on Thursdays. I’m so glad we went. Try the snapper at the tent with the big grill! It was A+
The coconut shrimp was also awesome from Pepper town cafe but the line is LONG and takes forever. Go early! Right at 530 when it starts… people will start piling in

So much fun. A great mix of islanders and tourist at an open air festival. Vendors set up booths and sell hand made items, art, clothes and so much authentic food and drink. Many tents with full bar options. Turks Head Brewing is also in sight. Live music and dancing. Recommend I Soon Reach local brew. Seating can be hard to come by but wander down toward the beach to find some tucked in picnic tables.

Going to Turks in a few days and was wondering if the Fish fry was still going on. And If so, do you need to purchase a ticket beforehand?

Definitely go early. We went over at 6:00 and it was already buzzing. By the time we left an hour-ish later, the food lines were intense.
