- joes1960465 contributionsLoving it a little less cause of people. Was there Friday 11/10 still beautiful but......nothing good lasts forever.....been going there for at least 12 years. Two changes this year which were disheartening. First was a tour boat pulled up by entrance & picked up group of 8. Second jet skis from sapodilla bay pulled in & were canvassing for business. Most crowded I've ever seen it probably 80 people Also some class less people approaching 50 guzzling beers on a mission & had to fit the f-word 3 or 4 times into every sentence & not a prude I grew up in Brooklyn.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 18, 2023
- Jdchicago12317 contributionsstunning, quiet beach!Worth the drive to get there - it's quiet, mostly empty, no vendors, calm water, nice views. Bring your own shade, lots of water, and a garbage bag to do a beach clean. The sand was really clean but the vacant lots behind it hold the storm refuse, I filled a grocery bag in about 30 mins of picking. We ate on the Chalk Sound afterward which was stunning, made for a nice late lunch end to a lovely, quiet, perfect caribbean beach day. There are crowds at the east end, so go all the way down the sketchy, potholed road about 1/2 mile to the west end of the beach and park the car off to the side and walk the paths to the beach. easier than it looks once you park.Visited November 2023Traveled with familyWritten December 2, 2023
- Ms. PantsAtlanta, Georgia133 contributionsSmall and lovelyWe went in the morning to just chill. We walked the whole beach which was lovely. I really liked the pine trees on the beach, I had not see them before. Google directions got us right to the path to enter the beach. We were there until noon and herds of people with kids where coming in. Which makes sense because there a no waves, very kid safe.Visited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 26, 2023
- Robert LAmherst, Massachusetts1,618 contributionsA MUSTIt's a little tricky to get here so ask a local. From the road - where you must part- It's a 1 minute walk. Bring your own chair or just a towel. Gorgeous- you can wade out quite a way but I wouldn't do swimming beyond your footing.Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 9, 2024

- Mdc979Boston, Massachusetts69 contributionsShallow beach, stay for the sunsetThis is a phenomenal beach. We got here late afternoon and parked on the street off Ocean Point Drive. The water here is really shallow so you can't really swim. You can walk out really far and still be only up to your knees. My kids really liked it (I did too.) We stayed to watch the sunset on the beach. It was really pretty, even though it was a pretty mellow sunset that day. The beach was really clean and we felt like we had way more space to spread out away from people than at other beaches we visited. We brought our own chairs and umbrella. There are no vendors on this beach, so you need to bring your own stuff.Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 3, 2024
- GlamperGirlAtlanta, Georgia28 contributionsPerfectionI could pitch a tent in live on this beach. You CAN snorkel here - just walk to the far end and go out around the rocky coast. Saw lots of cool fish. We initially came because Grace Bay was so rocky. Spent most of our time here just sitting in the calmest, clearest water we’ve ever seen.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 9, 2024

The water was gorgeous and easy to swim in, no waves. Clear water and clean. we enjoyed just walking in the shallow water & looking at the beautiful homes & boats. We were able to put out chairs under a tree for shade. everyone was respectful & calm, no wild parties or loud music, Just peace & beauty...Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 18, 2024

In a nutshell. The beach has no signs. It is on left side on a bend in the road. Look for parked cars. Do not rely on Google Maps. The beach is surrounded by private property. Parking on the street is limited. Do not park in the restricted areas or you will get towed. You have to find an unoccupied piece of sand. Security patrols the area due to the nice houses in the area. Walk down a short path to the beach. Get greeted by a slew of locals trying to sell you drinks, chairs and umbrellas. We got stopped 4 times. The locals set up 3 small bars and play loud music of their choice. They are creating a party scene. The locals will also rent you wave runners or a couple of other water items. My family pushed past all of that and went to where a few people were at. Security came around every couple of hours making sure you are not using the private property beach house property. As for the beach, water is very shallow for couple hundred of yards. No waves. Sand is very soft. The water creates all these pits in the water like very small hills. Hard to describe. No wildlife even with googles. Great for small kids. There are no trees for shade. We met another family who told us they were here 7 years ago. Not as many houses and none of the local flavor was there. Very quiet and relaxing spot just to lay in the warm water. Not anymore. Once it became popular, the locals are capitalizing on it.

Entrance is a very short way down Ocean Point Drive. Look for the parked cars. Walkway is in between two cement garden walls. Recommend putting bug spray on your ankles for the sand flies. I got bites but wife had nothing.

Such a fun beach to visit!!! Water is very warm and shallow for a long distance. Great for little kids. We sat in the water for a few hours and just enjoyed the ocean. Must access it by the walkway from the road. It isn’t well marked but once you find it, the beach is worth it! We found starfish in the water here as well.

We were staying in a villa nearby, so had the convenience of a short walk or kayak ride to enjoy the beach. Amazingly fine, soft sand. Interesting beach front homes, which are somewhat sparse and have natural (bushes, trees) privacy between beach and home. Makes the beach seem more secluded. Beach was very calm during week, which had differing winds. Perfect place for kids to swim with exception of no facilities (unless you have access to tennis club somewhat nearby or villa).

We stayed at the Bamboo House on Taylor Bay, Turks and Caicos. There was 5 of us and it was perfect. Villa had everything we needed. A 3 min. Walk to a beautiful, quiet beach. You could walk out in the beautiful clear water for 1/2 mile. We had absolutely amazing sunsets. We had a great restaurant a 15 min. Walk away, Las Breezes. It was an great holiday and would highly recommend The Bamboo House

Previous reviews are very accurate about the beach, the water, the tranquility and the dogs! Taylor Bay is incredible!
Unfortunately, the dogs were running around and aggressively targeting various people making their way along the shore. We heard and saw them barking and lunging, forcing some to run into the water to get around them. I found that standing ground and yelling aggressively at them stopped them in their tracks for a bit so that I could make my way past. The owner, apparently named Ron, is identified on a sign taped to the wall that warns about the dogs.
We met others who loved the beach but wouldn't return because of the dogs. We too never went back to Taylor Bay during our stay and it's truly unfortunate that an irresponsible dog owner is allowed to have such an influence on others' enjoyment of such a beautiful area.

Great couple of hours relaxing in the warmer water. Easy path to follow onto the beach. Two dogs with collars were on the beach and moving from group to the next. Both looked friendly enough, however, one of the dogs started barking at us and came running towards us. The dog slowed down when it got closer and just walked passed up and then return to its original position under a tree. Less than 5 minutes later two people showed up and were setting up when the dog did the same thing. We decided to depart immediately after that happened. I became fearful the dog would do something and the owner was no where to be found. Be careful of the dogs.

Taylor Bay Beach is a lovely crescent of a beach in Chalk Sound. We could walk there from our home rental, and enjoyed the lovely sand and warm water. One word of caution during busy tourist times: there is not a lot of parking on the street with public access to the beach, and we saw a car that was suffered some damage due to a collision in the overcrowded few spots that are available.

We love taking our adult children with their young children, the water is warm and shallow (knee high for a couple hundred feet out). The beach sand can be thin with rock underneath making it hard to set up beach umbrella. Beautiful homes surround it. Some really elegant vacation rentals.

We rented a villa on Chalk Sound. Several days were very windy and it was great to be able to walk over to Taylor Bay Beach, it is on the opposite side of the island and was sheltered from the wind. Great place to watch the sunset.

We are looking to rent a villa in Taylor Bay in February. How is the condition of this beach and Provo since the hurricane?
Written December 21, 2017
Hi,
I can’t really answer that for you. I know the airport area was flooded from the storm and there was damage but from what I’ve read most areas are back to normal. It’s a beautiful place and Taylor Bay was perfect for us, less crowded and a more quiet area. It’s easy to get around the island so if you’re looking for more activity it’s a short drive away.
Have a great trip and enjoy the beautiful island and it’s residents. 🏝

Hi- we are renting a villa on chalk sound and plan to go to Taylor beach. What is this about a gate? The beach is listed as public.
Written September 15, 2017
It is a public beach but access is really limited unless you're crossing over private property. Apparently there use to be more public access/parking but some property was sold where that access was and there are some villas there now. We were staying on Taylor Bay at a villa so we had direct access to the beach. There are still a couple of spots that the public can access if you're lucky enough to get a place to park that you can walk in. There was a lot of complaints about the limited access prior to us going but with private owners building I see their point, too, of not wanting people parking at their villas or going across their private property to access the beach. I think the local government should have thought ahead and saved a small plot just for access.
It's a beautiful, quiet beach and definitely worth the walk in.
Enjoy your trip. It's a beautiful island!

how do we get an access to the beach ? where do we have to stay in order to do that
Written April 25, 2017
There are several villa rentals in the Taylor Bay Beach area that have paid for access to the beach. Just ask before you rent to confirm that they have.
Written May 25, 2017
did you stay at the resort for this beach....apparently this beach doesn't allow public access unless you are staying with the resort associated to this beach....is that true
Written April 25, 2017
There are no "resorts" associated with this beach. It's a small, tranquil bay which has villas/houses facing the beach however they don't own the property around the beach (all beaches are public) but I hear they are trying to block access to the public since it's getting more and more popular and I guess they don't like all the traffic. There is clear path from the road to the beach however some of the home owners across the street have installed large rocks and posted "no parking" signs. This really sucks since it's such a beautiful beach with white powdery sand and the water is very calm (great for kids to play). My husband and I visit this beach every time we visit TCI and the beach is always pristine (people seem to respect the environment and pick up after themselves which is a good thing). You will need a vehicle to get to it since it's south of the island near Sapodilla Bay which is also very nice. Going to Las Brisas for lunch after your visit is highly recommended. They have a pool where you can rinse the salt water off and wait for your lunch.

I've been told that Taylor Bay will be closed for some reason in April. If so why and for how long? We're in T&C at the end of April. Thank you.

Hola!!

i stayed in march of this year and it got very windy which made grace bay ocean rough.iwas told that no matter what the weather taylor bay is always calm is this true?
Written June 26, 2016
There was not a lot of wind when we were there in December. Taylor Bay is more protected than most of the other beaches in Turks. It's not a typical "swimming" beach as it's very shallow for a very long ways off of shore. It's great for kids! The sand is very white and very soft...not many rocks or sharp objects in the water so even if the wind comes up, you should be able to comfortably walk around in the water even if you can't see the bottom. We did swim some at this beach (quite a ways out) and even learned to paddle board. It's a very protected area, not a lot of fish, etc which made it ideal for learning on (and falling off) the boards.

Are you able to take a taxi to Taylor Bay if you are staying at one of the resorts on Grace Bay?

You'll be better off renting a car - you can get one for between $30-50USD/day and there's not so much traffic that the left-hand driving is difficult (just take it easy on day one!).
