Getting off of the cruise ship, Cockburn town in Grand Turk, seems really just to be a commercialized outdoor outlet mall built in a village form (Ron Jon surf shop, Margaritaville, Harley Davidson, etc.). Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville has a large pool with a nice bar... get there asap to get a good lounge chair if you plan to swim at... More

We got off the docks and hung a right. Followed the beach allllllll the way around to the left and down about a quarter mile. Nobody else around. Here we found the open ocean separated from the beach by a rocky coral reef, which broke the waves and gave us an amazing day of calm water snorkeling. Thousands of fish... More

The Cruise Port area is new and modern and has a number of shops to look around in, they also have outdoor music and several areas to grab something to eat or drink. There is a Jimmy Buffet Margaretville to the left hand side as you exit into the Cruise Port, which has a bar and restaurant as well as... More

The whole terminal complex if owned and operated by Carnival. The locals are located just outside the gates of the complex. The locals charge for attractions and tours just a fraction of what is charged by the ship. Consider hiring a taxi to give you the island tour. I've been here twice in the last 6 months. First time booked... More

This is the Carnival cruise center and there is shopping and restaurants. There are plenty of lounge chairs on the beach to relax in with your ship on yards away, there is also a pool and of course Margaritaville.

We were doing a back-to-back cruise on Carnival Sunshine last month and Great Turk was twice on our itinerary. Both times the weather was nice and the experience enjoyable. We just walked to the beach, picked our free chairs and umbrella, went in the gorgeous water before it got too crowded, and then explored the area. So relaxing! Both times... More

This port is very convenient for cruisers as it is a short walk from the ship to the shops, beach and Margaritaville. Beach chairs are free, many shops in the center and a NASA exhibit from the Mercury program. Very cool to be sitting on the beach with your cruise ship right smack in front of you!
