We went on a trip to snorkel over a reef and see the stingrays at Gibbs Cay. It was perfect. Our small group ended up being just our family of 4. The guide took us through the water snorkeling at our pace. They spent time with us at the stingrays. They answered any questions we had and were very friendly. By the end of the trip, it felt like we were on an adventure with friends. I would HIGHLY recommend th is company. We would definitely return!

We surveyed wide swaths of beautiful turquoise waters for more than 3 hours and saw no whales. The tour groups will share information if they see whales but nobody had seen whales on this day. Wasn't looking good for us. But, Captain Donovan and crew were absolutely determined to find whales. We were nearing the end of our allotted time and that's when our spotter saw a huge splash several miles out in the deep ocean. We motored out and waited for more signs. Eventually we found a pod of 4 whales and followed them carefully for nearly 45 minutes. We took so many photos and videos as they swam underneath our boat and we could see that it was 2 calves and their mothers. They were moving too fast and it was too deep for swimming with them. Feeling satisfied, we high-fived, said goodbye, and headed back to the beach. Halfway back, we saw another pair of whales in shallow water and headed over for a closer look. Capt Don says "Do you want to swim with them?" and in less than 2 minutes, I was in the water less than 20 feet from the mother whale and its calf. It was amazing. I have some hi-res gopro videos that I will try to post. Captain Donovan and his crew delivered. Totally worth the cost and the risk that you might not see whales which he says happens about once a year.

The fact that we almost decided to skip this portion of the trip haunts me to this day. It was hard to wake up early on vacation and get motivated to meet a boat for a 'chance' to see a whale maybe surface and get a few pics. What happened next was a once in a lifetime, unbelievable, awe-inspiring day on the water. Meeting Don Francis was a treat. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and a great Captain. However, Dea-Dea (day-day) our First Mate was truly the right guy for the job. He was friendly, helpful, and knew his way around the ocean. He spotted whales within 15-minutes of us being on the water, and Don was able to quietly and calmly maneuver us close enough to see them surface and swim. Don was gentle with the animals, even talking quieter onboard as if he didn't even want to disturb them by talking! His care and passion for the whales was contagious, and his appreciation for them does not go unnoticed. He also was full of knowledge about their migration, life cycles, and behaviors. The joy of this trip was the actual once-in-a-lifetime experience of being able to ease into the water and snorkel over the top of these giants. As he told us before we got underway, there is no guarantee that we even see a whale.. there's no guarantee that we get close enough for pictures if we do... and there's especially no guarantee that you can swim with them. BUT, we were one of the lucky few. We had the encounter that everyone hopes for, and with multiple pods!! Thanks to Dea Dea and to Don and their knowledge of the area and the whales, we were lucky enough to find 3 pods (Moms, calves, and bulls!) and swim with 2 of them. I wish the pictures did justice what the experience was actually like, but the encounter was one I will never forget! If you want a friendly, caring, and fun crew to take you out on the water, Donovan and Dea Dea are a team that I would highly recommend to anyone.

We recently took a private boat charter out with Donovan and Day-Day to go whale watching with our two young kids, ages 3 and 10 months. It was a sunny and choppy day on the water, dramamine is a must but the cover on the boat was a lifesaver to keep the kids out of the sun. Donovan also did a great job of navigating the boat to keep from hitting the waves which was great because my 3 year old just wanted to kneel at the front and watch for whales. Day-Day was our spotter and did a great job of looking for the whales. They found them much quicker than expected! We didn't get to swim with them because they were moving around too much - don't forget that they are wild animals and the crew can't change that. The kids ended up falling asleep for most of the ride but did well. Do bring towels, you will get sprayed from the ocean and may want to wrap the kids up with if the wind is too much for them. We weren't able to chase the whales as quickly as I would have liked because we were going slow. If I had to do it again, I would probably leave the kids at home so we could go as fast as needed to keep up with the whales. They are spectacular! Donovan is a wealth of knowledge and fun to talk to. My daughter even invited him to her birthday at the end of the day. Either way, I would make sure to come back and charter with Donovan and their team!

McKensie , a great captain and Daniel, our mate led us on snorkel a full circle around the reef. McKensie opened a live conch, showed us how to clean it and then we ate the whole thing raw- great!! Fed sting rays and they came right up next to shore and he picked one up gently, we all got string ray back massages from its big wings.....climbed to top of Cay for view and then it was unlimited rum PUNCH...we met after tour and Shak just down the beach for conch fritters and cold Turk beer. Nice folks....ran the tour for just 3 of us!
