if your into history you would find it very interesting although it has lost some of the vibes that you felt with the old museum now it has been moved into a new building . the information on the past is quite upsetting when you start reading about the land and people .

If you want to get a feel for the history of Tobago, this is a great place to visit. The museum is fairly small but very informative, well staffed, and has a wide range of old charts, artifacts etc.

The surrounding fort (the museum is in one of the old barracks) is well preserved with a range of interested old buildings to walk around - the fort is located high up with excellent views out to sea (with obligatory canons) and is a quiet and relaxing spot to spend some time (with plenty of staff around so feels quite secure as well).

I almost left Fort George because i didn't see any signage or signs of life to suggest that there was anything of note in the main structure at the fort. But a staff member returning from lunch directed me to enter. It is an interesting and very informative collection that tells of the pre-european history of Tobago in particular, and also the highpoints of its colonisation since then and a bit about the culture. It is a must view for history buffs and nature lovers

Although quite a small museum the range of history displayed for the island was very interesting (and it has good air con !). Nice setting above Scarborough and not busy either time we visited. Very cheap to get in (£2 adult) small shop as well as outside souvenir store

This excellent Museum represents a dedicated life time of work by Eddie Hernandez, Tobagonian historian and archivist. Visitors get a well rounded look at Tobago's past, lovingly portrayed in art and artifacts, documents and antiques. Very well put together.

The museum is nested in the scene heights of Fort King George in the Scarborough. One of the best viewing points within the town. The walls are constructed with old yellow, red and dark bricks which gives the building a rustic look. The display artifacts are well organized and labeled with their locations found in Tobago. The staff have a account of the historic pieces stored within the museum.

We drove all the way from the other side of the island to visit this placed based upon the hours posted on their website. When we got there it was closed. When we asked the local staff on site about it, they basically they told it was closed, no reason, no apologies ...just closed! Not a great experience! Understand things do happen but they could have either posted a note or staff could have been a little less rude.
