How lucky we were to be walking through the forest and get rain coming down. This place is so peaceful and beautiful. Our guide showed us a few birds through his telescope and I was lucky enough to have seen what I was told a...More
Went on the Gilpin Trace with the most wonderful guide, Michael. His knowledge of the nature and its inhabitants were abundant - he was very good in showing us the hidden gems and spotting birds. Do not miss a visit to the rain forest, and...More
I wasn't overly excited about the rainforest and the Gilpin Trace as I'm more happy when I'm in the water and wanted to get cracking to The Nylon Pool which was next on the list of things to do that day.

Took a nice hike to a small waterfall (much too small to swim in). Went with a local tour guide which I would highly recommend since he told us about the vegetation and birds we saw (of which there were many!). If you are going...More
The Gilpin Trail enters the Forest by a tatty board around a mile on the Roxborough side of the Visitors Centre. A guide will point out a number of things to you but one is not essential. You can't get lost; there is no division...More
This is an easily accessible rainforest. The roads are good and the path fairly easy but you will need sturdy shoes.
I would recommend Fitzroy Quamina 6607836. He is good at spotting birds, knows the calls and nesting sites.
My partner and I had a lovely walk through the Main Ridge Forest Reserve. This is a "must" while in Tobago. Fitzroy was very knowledgable about the birds, plants, and the history of the reserve. He was also very friendly and accommodating of personal mobility...More
We're not birders, but more interested in enjoying the glorious surroundings. Our guide, Darren Henry, did a great job introducing us to the habitat and teaching us how to spot the birds. This is a truly extraordinary place to visit, but please don't expect cafes...More
Get away from the busy airport end of the Island and explore the Main Ridge Reserve. You can drive through, take a tour or take more time and walk although it's hilly and hot but with great views and wildlife.
