We're not birders, but more interested in enjoying the glorious surroundings. Our guide, Darren Henry, did a great job introducing us to the habitat and teaching us how to spot the birds. This is a truly extraordinary place to visit, but please don't expect cafes or souvenir shops: it is a pristine rain forest. Make sure you have good walking... More

Get away from the busy airport end of the Island and explore the Main Ridge Reserve. You can drive through, take a tour or take more time and walk although it's hilly and hot but with great views and wildlife.

we arranged a tour with local guide Newton George who knows all about the birdlife and makes sure his customers see as many as possible, providing binoculars and a powerful telescope. It was a wonderful and educational experience.

Went with Alibaba Tours and had Jackson as highly knowledgeable guide, having been paractically been brought up in th forest.A slow, ramble, often stopping to listen to...and hopefully see, the many birds, especially the humming bitds. Take good shoes and take your time.

Don't go on large tours; these are loud and disturb the environment. we went with Peter Cox, in a very slow-paced, informative and mindful small group, to reduce environmental impact. we saw many groups of 20+ people who were not really taking anything in. ALso, the terrain is very difficult so I would not recommend this for people who are... More

First off, you definitely need a vehicle to get up to the Main Ridge. Secondly, you need to get there between 6 - 7 am. Once the above two are set, for any nature and wildlife photographer, it is a dream. Loads of species to photograph. No need to get into any forested trails as a lot of photos can... More

A pristine environment, this forest is chock full of bird life. There are the typical Caribbean and Central American birds, but the are a few endemic species. The trails can be a bit muddy and are not roundtrip. TIP: Hire a good guide before you go (Peter Cox is a great guide). You will see far more birds as the... More

A must-do in Tobago - the oldest rainforest reserve in the hemisphere offers some impressive views. Go with a tour guide.

This is a long lovely drive through the main ridge! The air is clear and the flora is breathtaking! It's great for bikers or nature lovers. There are so many varieties of plants it's amazing! The air up here is clean and unpolluted. The temperature is also lower and cooler. A great site seeing drive!
