Maracas bay is a 45 minute drive from Port of Spain. The drive takes you over the Northern range with wonderful cliff views of the sea. The lookout about 1K from the beach is great but beware that you will be serenaded by a local...More

Expected better scenery, food options, and upkeep of the beach - was disappointing but it appears to be one of the better beaches in Trinidad - if you are looking for a beautiful beach you should travel to Tobago.

Beautiful beach area in Trinidad. The trip from Port-of-Spain to the beach is amazing as well -- you see a lot of what the island is. Had our Shark and bake sandwich -- an island specialty. Worth the trip and time to spend time on...More

Maracas is everything you think about when you picture the ocean: blue sea, blue sky, long stretches of beach, golden sand, coconut trees and cooling breezes. The food stalls are a plus and the beach facilities.

Go you will like it. The renovated stalls and wide sandy areas makes this beach and idle place to relax and wind down. I had a great visit.

The water is not as clear as I would had hoped but the deep green cover hills that encircles the beach are breathtaking. Be mindful that the beach is on the smaller side

This beach strip is known for the bake and shark and other fried goodies hence why we visited Getting there is a bit scary as you are going down a mountain and the road is a wining steep road. The landscape is simply breathtaking as...More

The road is very narrow for the 2 lanes and it has many twists and sharp turns. Would highly recommend to go with an experienced local (tour guide). They also drive on the opposite side as North America so that is something... More

It's not expensive, I would compare it to a motel from about 40 years ago. Bare bones. But it's right on the beach basically. You just cross the street. But it is run down. I stayed at the Hilton in POS and that was 3 stars... More
