To get to this beach you have to travel through winding roads through the mountains. However it is a beautiful journey. Be sure to stop at The Lookout Point which presents a great view of Maracas Bay. The beach is beautiful...white sands and clear water. Coconut trees line the sand for shady escapes. Rent a beach chair for $20 TT.... More

Maracas Bay for me is the ultimate Trini beach 'lime'. Easy to reach once you've got a car and just 20 minutes outside the city of Port of Spain but it looks and feels like a world away. No beach visit is complete without a stop on the famous lookout, a few photos and armed with a handful of sweet... More

It had been a long time since I had bee to Maracas and was soooo disappointed to see its current state with incomplete construction and the associated mayhem. You do not even get a good view of the ocean front....or even know where to pass to get to the beach. We headed onto las cuevas which was wonderful.

The beach area is open and in places a little dirty with all kinds o litter. There's lots of construction going in the area as well and parking is limited - be aware that parking illegally can have your vehicle impounded and towed by the traffic police. There are a few small kiosks close by, the most famous are the... More

Maracas is one of the top family destinations on the island and rightly so. For a small island this beach is the most commercially developed one with many food and drink stalls available. Ensure that you rent an umbrella and beach chair from the helpful staff. The water is not too turbulent or rough and makes for a good swim.... More

Maracas Beach great for spending the day with family and friends, take along your meal to sit on the sand and enjoy the scenery, most popular to try the local dish of Bake and Shark. You can purchase local handicraft like bracelets, sovereigns and lots more

Very clean beach with lifeguards sometimes. Water can be rough if you venture far our since the waves can be high at times. Safe for children if you remain in the shallow.

My second trip here. Last time five years ago the facilities were basic but much has been done and work is ongoing to provide more facilities and restructure the site. An exciting journey by road to get there! Be sure to stop at the viewing site for incredible panorama shots and nice sweet snacks on the way. Very popular with... More

Maracas is still undergoing infrastructural repairs. The sea is rough most times, nice if you are into surfing. Over rated as far as I am concerned, the bake and shark is not what it use to be. The location of parking and the eating places, that is across the main and only road makes no sense to me. There is... More
