Idyllic setting
Dec 2018 • Couples
Enjoyed a brief stop here as part of our Leeward tour as it is just off the main road close to Layou.

Member of staff gives a brief description of the petroglyphs found around the island, images of which are displayed in a small room, then leads you to their own one.

In an idyllic setting within rainforest and alongside a small river, it is easy to imagine the Carib Indians living there and creating this art.

Definitely worth the very short detour off the main road.

Brief but worthwhile

Easy to find in our rental car just north of Layou. Small museum shows other petroglyphs on the island also. Guide leads you to the single rock and gives a brief explanation. Nice to see but unless your a full on historian don't make this the sole focus of your day out.

The Man who runs this is a wonderful man

So interesting. Very low key, remarkably low key. My friends who deal in Caribbean
Art in New York City recommended seeing this place.
It's so understated most people don't understand the magnitude of history
They are seeing before their eyes.

Very important to see if you have an interest in Petroglyphs and Archeology.

It's a relative new science, since most of the information on this field is outdated. There were a lot of errors made by experts in the 1920s. Limited knowledge-

Nice stop on a road trip
Mar 2017 • Friends
On our roadtrip along the Leeward Coast, my friend and I saw the sign for the Petroglyph Park and we visited the site. It is a very relaxing and natural environment. The gardens are well taken care of and the green space is very pretty. There is a river running alongside the property. A walkway was constructed below the trees for an ideal view of Petroglyph. I would recommend this attraction to supplement your day's activities, not as a final destination.

Interesting

Interesting to see the petroglyphs. A nice local man showed us and explained about them. Worth the small fee. All parks on St Vincent charge $5 EC-all are worth it to see and keep the parks preserved.

For Rock Art Hounds

We took a local taxi to this small site on the west side
of the Island, travelling through the countryside you can see
how the country folk live. The school children were everywhere.
The site is a preserved park with a copied brochure from
100 years ago when the site was first studied. One negative
the 2 gals who worked there had little knowledge or interest
in the petroglyphs.

Short visit to the rock
Dec 2015 • Couples
It took miracle to find this place as the signage is confusing. Good thing my navigation on phone worked. The entry was very inexpensive, and it was a good 20-minute excursion. We enjoyed the experience and got some good pictures. Considering the lack of activities on the island we were excited to see something, even a rock.

Interesting to learn about these petroglyphs!

Enjoyed the site. Would have liked to see the off site petroglyphs, but they aren't well marked. Tour guide was informative and friendly.

big rock by a stream

Along the way to Wallilabou in St. Vincent we stopped to see the petroglighs on a big rock just above a stream surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. Nice picture spot.

Hidden History
Apr 2014 • Family
Have been going to St.vincent for many years and never knew this place was there.

What a fantastic find, just off the main road in Layou, off a dirt track side road, can ask any of the locals they will be more than happy to direct you or even take you there, as they are very friendly people, its justs 10 mins away from Buccament Bay Hotel.

Had to pay a small fee and then was shown around, first we went into the Gallery to view some ancient pictures then we were taken into the grounds where there were large engraved stones. from centuries. There was a beautiful little stream and there was a really nice Gazebo, would be great for Weddings.

Great Find, thanks to the Management for making us feel welcome.
