It was a beautiful little ,private island. We had to call the island from a phone located nearby to get permission to come unto the island, we were unable to use the beach area but we could've gone across to use the bar and restaurant and to take pictures. There was a ferry to take you across for free to the island which was about 5 minutes long. The waters were calm and blue. There were not much people there although it was during the Easter vacation period.

We visited St. Vincent as part of a cruise on the 6th March and had previously booked a day pass at Young Island. This proved to be excellent value ! The boat trip from the town beach pier was free to the Island and we met Shanna on her way to work and who had confirmed our booking. The day pass included the use of a lovely little bungalow, beautifully decorated with flowers, with bathroom facilities and outside shower. We had the use of their beach and in fact were the only two people on sunbeds for most of the day. Lunch (included) consisted of a choice from 5 freshly baked loaves (we chose coconut bread and fruit bread), carrot soup, shrimp fritters with orange sauce, fish of the day and choice of desserts. This was eaten outside on the edge of the sand under a thatched roof and included a generous rum punch.
After several swims and a very relaxing afternoon we caught the return ferry at 3.15pm.
Definitely the highlight of our cruise. A true slice of the Carribean. Well recommended !

The island is small and very intimate. Do take note that this is a private beach and the best way to visit is to take the ferry across. There is an area on the beach that is strictly reserved for hotel guests.

For a fee, you can get access to a cottage and meals for the day.

A little crowded but very pretty nonetheless. Be prepared for some haranguing by locals keen to take you across in the boats from the main island, but mostly friendly banter. Stayed a couple of hours to swim and sunbathe. Pleasant afternoon. Recommend.

We just came for a day trip, and ate at the restaurant which was very nice. The beach is clean and maintained, but the water, you can only go knee deep before you are stepping in a mass of seaweed.

We were staying at Beachcombers and wanted to go to Young Island and the Fort. We took the free ferry (just stand on the dock) and had a lovely reasonably priced drink. The following day we took the ferry at lunch time and had an amazing lunch including fresh baked bread at the resort. Another day we paid Sparrow 30EC to take us by boat to the Fort (I personally would not suggest wandering around the private island and snorkeling across), climbed the 266 steps, saw the view and cannons, and returned about 1 hour later. A very nice outing.

We booked in at the last minute due to a mixup with our air carrier - LIat of course - and spent two lovely nights there. The cottage we were given was large with a fantastic view of the harbour. We will be back

Spent the evening her. Take the small free boat acrodd. About 5 minutes ride. I enjoyed the fruit cocktails especially the banana suprise. The bar tender was really nice. We had dinner there are it was elegant and very romantic. The bead options were really nice. I liked the cinnamon and the cocunt bread. We just had to ask for more. The restaurant called a taxi to take us back to our hotel. Excellent service.

Small island with a resort. Nice beach with golden sand, bungalow style stay, gorgeous plants and flowers, great views, one minute boat ride to land, in front of the Mariners Hotel. If you do not stay in Young Island you can go to their restaurant and take the complimentary boat there. A few minutes to the airport and about ten minutes from downtown Kingston.
