Our most popular ride is the Nevis beach and trail ride which begins with a walk to the beach through an old coconut grove which was once part of Jamestown, the first capital of Nevis in the 1600's. Close by is Ft. Ashby, the first fort on the island built in 1650. Along the way, you will pass Nelson's Spring, a beautiful lagoon where clipper ships once filled up with fresh drinking water.

We continue through Calhoun Estate where you will see Brahma cattle and in the distance, St. Thomas' Anglican Church, the oldest active Anglican Church in the Caribbean (1643). We then return to the beach at Beach Paradise Nevis on Paradise Beach, where we can see the beach at the Four Seasons Resort. From there, we turn east, off the beach to Paradise Estate, once a magnificent sugar plantation where you will see ruins of a sugar mill and, a little farther off, the magnificent estate homes at Four Seasons. Your ride then proceeds through the bush, near the Four Seasons world-renowned golf course. We ride past a typical Nevis home of the 1800's, made completely of cedar shingles, and on through the village of Cotton Ground, which derives its name from the production of cotton in years past. The people of this village are warm and friendly and you don't want to forget the name of your horse because the young children, who know the horses, will question you as to which one you are riding.

As we make our return to the stables you will see St. Kitts to the west and the cloud covered Nevis Peak to the east. Just another beautiful day in paradise!

Proprietors, The Guilberts, raised Arabian show horses for twenty-five years in California, USA before moving to Nevis in 1994. They opened the Nevis Equestrian Centre in 1996 with daughter, Erika, a trained hunter-jumper rider who conducted therapeutic riding, as a community service, for students with special needs from 1998 until 2009. Her students brought home gold silver and bronze medals from the Special Olympics held in North Carolina, USA in 1999 and from the Special Olympics World Games in Ireland in 2003.

Me along with my girlfriend and cousin went last year, and was worth it. First of all the guy who runs it is really nice. He is well knowledgeable and takes care of his horses. They all have names of course. The ride around the island was great along the beach, across different communities and landscapes. Lots of opportunities to... More

One of the best horse-riding experiences ever. My partner and I went for a sunset ride and loved it so much we returned a few days later for another ride! The horses are loved (which is very important to me) and the guide is patient. The whole experience was very relaxed and accommodating. I would come back to Nevis just... More

Our day could not have been more perfect and I can't say enough good things about John and the staff at Nevis Equestrian (including his lovely young-adult grandchildren). I have always dreamed of riding on the beach and the experience in Nevis was all and more than hoped for! Thanks to beautiful horses, stunning scenery, fascinating guide Navin, our small... More

I cannot say enough how great of an experience we had with John and everyone at the Nevis Equestrian Centre. We were on a cruise with six people and I contacted John the week before we were to arrive and he took care of everything for us. When traveling with two children and two families getting activities planned can be... More

I must admit when I discovered I had two cruise ships docking two hours apart it was a challenge to make sure all ten riders would have a wonderful adventure on Nevis. What made it work was the fact that I had wonderful families to work with. Through all the emails back and forth you all were very positive and... More

We recently had a morning horseback ride along the beach and through the countryside while at a cruise ship stop at St. Kitts. John, the owner, was awesome! He took all of the worry/hassle out of the experience from the time we made our reservation until we were back at our cruise ship port! We were met at the port,... More

It was truly my pleasure to help you with your bucket list! I will surely remember this day as you were the first riding group I picked up with my new (to me) vehicle. The trip to Golden Rock made it all worth while! It was so nice to meet and spend time with all of you. My staff really... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Nevis Equestrian Centre and horseback ride through some of the countryside and the beach. We were met at the cruise port by John (the owner) and enjoyed learning about Nevis and his ranch. We took a sunset beach tour yesterday, having changed our booking from the morning as I was worried about burning in the sun. John, the owner, was very accommodating and friendly. We did a beach and village ride in early March. Our guide was the owner, John. The horses were well behaved and cared for, the latter being a very important consideration. Since we were beginners and somewhat apprehensive, we proceeded at a very leisurely pace without incident. Riding on the beach, with the surf lapping up to the horses’ legs... More
